Where you have wars, not everyone has a warlike mentality, so it's not surprising that some want to remove themselves as far as possible from areas of conflict. I don't think the warring factions/governments really think about this consequence.

Tough enough to be there illegally for many and then to be looking over your soldier for Jabhat al-Nusra and the Islamic State. 1.2 million fleeing violence creating a mind boggling 1/3 of the Lebanese population. I count my blessings...Did some research yesterday where my dad was stationed and was awarded a bronze star. New Guinea and Mindanao...never knew how many troops on both sides were involved. Only heard about the Japanese cigarette embers on hills watching Bob Hope! Hope is what I have for all the displaced, kidnapped, enslaved...

Whole generations of people, especially men, stuck in countries that do not want them (it isn't only Lebanon). Jehadists, terrorists, desperado's... in the making.

With this amount of refugees the Lebanese will soon be the minority in their own country.

These Syrian refugees flee to any nearby peaceful country, also Turkey and Jordan have a lot of them and the problem is if they can ever return home.

refugees all over the world have been forced from their homes by violence, global climate change, greed, famine...regime change...there are over 30 million refugees in the world, and the number is climbing. Terrible for the refugees and hard on the host countries too.

Yes, totally agree with Leslie.

Either the countries they're fleeing from need to clean up their act, and quickly, or the countries the refugees flee to, need to make some kind of provision for them, even temporary, in terms of shelter, and basic provisions (food, water, etc.)
