I wonder what the study for bird kill showed regarding this wind farm. I know we absolutely need alternatives for fuel sources but studies show that bird kills are massive. I believe 2 US senators lobbied to shut down a wind farm in west virginia. Studies from the u of calgary showed that the lungs of bats explode when nearing these fields. Cannot solar panels affixed to these towers provide energy????

According to this article, "the electricity generated by the water pouring in is matched or exceeded by that needed to pump it out. The island should make a profit because it consumes electricity at a cheaper rate than it generates it." If it takes as much or more electricity to get the water out of the hole than is generated letting it flow in, how can they be making a profit?
