Dog Saves Drunk Man's Life By Eating His Toe

A dog who chewed off his owner's big toe when he passed out after a day of drinking has been hailed a lifesaver. 'Have-a-toe-hero' Kiko, a Jack Russell terrier, apparently sensed an infection in Jerry Douthett's right big toe.

From now on when Jerry is tempted to have a drink he should look at where his big toe used to be, and just play with Kiko instead of drinking.

Our dog, a female mix named Sable, can tell when my Type I diabetic husband's blood sugar is getting low. She will lick and harrass him until he gets up and gets an soda or something to eat. If he is asleep, she will get me and take me to him. I can touch his forhead and if he feels sweaty, I know he needs sugar fast. She is intelligent and sweet. Dogs can tell so much by smell.
