These pictures show an indefinable quality between mother and offspring. It show a tenderness, awareness and capacity to revere life, something that the human species has largely lost. Sure, a human mother and baby have a bond, but there is something about the artificiality that goes with the species, that takes away some of that transcendent, natural, innocence.
Yet to the majority they are no more than "cute" and when the cuteness has gone , those qualities ( that still remain with the animals ) are forgotten.
