Action Alert: Tanzania's Proposed Serengeti Highway Threatens Greatest Wildlife Migration on Earth

Environment  (tags: serengeti wildlife, National Park, ecosystem, highway, wildlife migration, wild animals, ecosystem, take action, threatened )

Serengeti National Park's locally and globally significant ecosystem is driven by migration of wildebeest, elephant and zebra; and will be utterly devastated by the plan, as will be local livelihoods and well-being. Take action!!!

Thank you for posting this Angnes. I'm trying to keep this story up front, and hope someone out there will put a stop to this highway. There are plenty of roads in the Serengeti--no need for a highway. I've been there twice to see the migration. There is nothing on earth like it. I would be a tragedy to see it end.

Thank you Nance. I agree with you that it is very important to prevent building this highway.

The authorities will built anyway - remember this is African way of thinking, they can not think ahead to see the consequences.

Thank you. I am fed up of the damage people do for money! When did the balance tip from fairly decent people to outright capitalism where nothing matters but comfort and accumulation of wealth? Not in moderation mark you, but in obscene excesses of every kind! There was a time when the majority of people I knew were mostly benign and willing to live simple uncomplicated lives, happy to have something but not willing to destroy and plunder for more!
