The new school year started four days ago in the occupied West Bank. In those four days Israeli soldiers fired tear gas and hurled stun grenades at Palestinian elementary school students on at least two occasions.

Okay, I watched the video and found it difficult to actually see what was happening. I feel for the children and their situation. I didn't get from the video though why it happened. Thee was obviously more going on than seems at first, but without the language and with the slow response from the cameraman, I have no idea what I'm watching.

Thank you Lorna......yes it is difficult to know exactly what is happening..short clips, different languages - no subtitles etc........but the use of "gas, chemical weapons" is clearly written.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geneva_Protocol

Greetings to the "Long White Cloud" from across "The Ditch"

Thx Sam and Sandrea. But I think it's best to post such selective footage along with the written description that makes things a bit clearer: 15 Tear Gas Grenades and 5 Stun Grenades Fired at Schoolchildren
Let's stay fair! But in no way am I justifying the IDF's usual disproportionally tough response, nor am I approving of the stone throwing as a starting point.

Noted with my heart full of anger and sadness! Thanks Sam. I clicked on the link 15 Tear Gas Grenades and 5 Stun Grenades Fired at Schoolchildren ) Posted by Angelica R. ) and spent well over an hour following other links and looking at the slide show on this site. It broke my heart!... but I will return to it tomorrow.. and the day after... and every day until I understand what is truly at the heart of the attacks. I believe it has nothing to do with religion or ethnicity or who has more rights to the sacred places... it is about Israel's quest for total ownership of all the land, all of Israel!!! It nearly always is... think Northern Ireland... think South Africa,... think Vietnam... the list is endless and so is the slaughter!
