This study was done a few years back, however I was re-introduced to it recently in a class. This is amazing of how Crows use tools more efficiently than primates at times. Betty really puts on a show. scroll down to watch the video.

Crows are AMAZING! I've watched them gather food & put it places where the snow gathers & freezes--so they have food all winter!
I saw this study a few years back as well---but you gotta admit, Betty is a sharp cookie allright--even with NO opposable thumbs--hehe.
Thank you, Raven, for posting it.

Such a trip to watch and listen to--I sometimes have 50 or more in my front yard

Thankz Raven, a cool clip...crows have a 'mass consciousness' like whales, what one crow knows so does the rest of his mob hehe...i've been inniated in crow medicine and crows are my shaman totem so i'm able to communicate with them rather well...therez a mob of them living in the bush near me and when i drive along the beach road i get an escort of at least a dozen of em hehe, and if i'm up at sunrise on my putr instead of in bed, they'll continually fly around above my house squawking and telling me to go get some sleep until i finally do hehehe...

Noted.. Thanks Raven.. Great video! I love crows! There are always crows in my backyard watching me doing the dishes or cooking.. They love to sit on the back of a garden chair and are observing each and every move I make.. They are very nosey and if my doggy wouldn't be in the house I know for sure they would pay me a visit inside the house.. They love to eat cat- and dogfood and even beg for dogs bisquits lol. They soak it in water and do the same with bread I give them. Are they clever or what? Thanks for the lovely article.. At least it brightened up my day after reading and viewing inhumanly horrible articles, pics and video's.. Blessed Be..

Thanks everyone for your comments and notes... Crows are great and I hope you can share these with your friends and family to give new insight to a bird that has been ruthlessly shot due to his "quote pestiness" and that there intelligence is a blessings to this planet.

Noted and thanks Raven. Betty is one smart crow! Where I live in Australia we have crows and their cousins who visit us daily and often sit way up high in my big trees talking (sounds more like back chatting!!!) me. Yes, not only do I talk to the birds, I talk to my plants too and they're all beautiful!!!

Noted and thanks. I also love crows!!! I've seen footage of them sliding down a snow covered slope on their backs and doing it repeatedly...or waiting until a traffic light stopped the cars and putting a nut in the cross walk and then letting the cars crack the nuts for them.
Just because other species go about things differently than humans in no way diminishes their wisdom.

thanks patricia.. it would do great service when more humans recognize and acknowledge the incredible wisdom and intelligence of other creatures. To learn from them and be in harmony with them, rather than against them.
