Email sent, I am so sad about this, EGAR offered to take Lennox to Northern Ireland a long time ago, but they were verbally abused by the family and now we have to panic to try and get him out of Belfast!

Poor Lennox has become a pawn in a very cruel game.

Thanks Ginger.

Email sent and forwarded to friends. Why they are so stubborn. It is much easier just to let Lennox free, he is innocent. They should spend their time and resource to catch and punish the real criminal, not the innocent animals!

as long as any being lives in fear and death at the hands of man so shall all men live under this same threat the universe is our shared country and the earth is our shared home and to do good should be our shared religion and under the fact of evolution all beings are our family.
you can tell a lot about a person or society by the way it treats the beings it doesn't think it has to treat well. silence is acceptance
life has value beyond measure
Peace and Love

Put Lennox and all the parties concerned in one room until they come to the right conclusion. Lennox needs a new loving home, new life. That is his sentence, for just being an adorable lovable dog.
Let Lennox now carry on with his life. He can not buy time back like some of these humans think they can.
Sorry is always too late. Let Lennox go please.

noted and emails sent...I pray that Lennox's life is spared. This dog does not deserve to be killed just because he looks like a breed that is not acceptable in that country...and the dog has done nothing to deserve this confinement all this heart is with the family and the much more suffering do they have to endure...and what in the hell is wrong with just getting him out of Ireland and placed in another country....I am sure there are people all over the world that would accommodate this sweet innocent dog....what did he do to deserve this treatment....may God be with him and his family....and answer our prayers to spare Lennox and let him live the life he so truly dog under any circumstances deserves to be in captivity this long!!!! God please free him!!!!!

Letter (email) sent with my own comments as well. This has gone on way too long. I can't believe the owners are giving up on Lennox when the world is standing behind them. The officials have to be embarrassed at this point, but know if they euthanized Lennox, that there will be even more heat and hopefully their jobs will be on the line.

Noted & Sent Letter. Please everyone send letter! We need to continue to send letters on behalf of Lennox to make these officials in Belfast know that the world is on Lennox's side and that they finally have to be on the side of justice and spare Lennox! With all the suffering that Lennox and his family have been put through for over two years (it must seem like an eternity to them) it is high time that these officials come to the realization that there was never a justifiable reason for Lennox to be taken away from his family and locked up and the only way to make this right is to spare his life! I hope they come to their senses and finally act like civilized and ethical individuals!

Alison A., thank you for having the decency and courage to report the truth.

Emails have been sent. This is a stain on Northern Ireland parallel to few others.

Have they no inkling as to the ramifications of this atrocity? A dog proven no threat to anyone incarcerated for years and sentenced to death based on junk testimonial and
phantom hysteria?

For those who have yet to send the email, make mention of the global stain upon Northern Ireland this unnecessary frenzy over Lennox has caused....and will continue to cause.

Poor Lennox. I sent the email. I tried to be as polite as possible but really those stupid people need the crap beat out of them for their treatment of this poor dog. If they murder him, they will get many nasty emails now that we know their email addresses. It's completely disgusting that this has gone on this long. I hope they do the humane and compassionate thing and send Lennox back home. What is their problem? He's not even a pit bull. Unreal, the stupidity in the world.

This is so dam disgusting, how we beg and give to org's that are suppose to be protecting animals and still, they are given the needle. Dam, what in the hell is it going to take to save them then? If you want to get rid of something, get rid of these rapist, murderers, home invaders who rob and kill innocent people, give them the dam needle. Man is the worst thing God has made sorry to say. God understands why I"m saying this. He gave man dominion over the fowls, animals, and look how they treat them. I'm glad there are many people like me on this site who care for our other forms of life.

This poor dog has been caged for 2 years and the sad part, is that he did nothing wrong! I see people wanting to adopt him. Why the hell has he not been set free yet? This is ridiculous!!! PLEASE, someone with a heart, . help get this dog the freedom he desrves, with a lovng family. Hello, is anyone lstening in Ireland?? Lennox has people who want to adopt him!!!!!!!

Dresia Vaughn (49)
Thursday July 5, 2012, 12:01 pm
Please, do not put this dog to death. He didn't do anything but live a happy life. Now he's on death role. This is inhumane and it's wrong. Why are you being so cruel and doing such a thing to this innocent animal, one that would love you forever and great you at the door and protect your home? He deserves life, just like we humans. We are pleading for you to let someone adopt the dog outside your country. If you put this dog to his death, God will hold you accountable for your actions and it will come back to you down the road. This is not a threat, but a promise; you will reap what you sowed. Let the dog go to a loving home. Someone wants him and is waiting to adopt him. How would you like it if it were so, that someone can come into your home, and take your child, (if you have one) and put it behind bars because of his/her nationality? It's wrong, please don't kill the dog.

Noted and letters sent, plus a couple of others to people not mentioned. I've run out of things to say about this, given my previous comments. I'm rather putting my faith in the protests at City Hall. I have friends in Belfast, from Ballymeena and from the Republic of Ireland who will be there, bless them. And a thousand thanks and blessings to Michelle and all others who have worked on this and helped to spread the word. If they do murder Lennox, they will pay for it, in loss of tourist and business loot if nothing else. The most disgusting and useless piles of protoplasm I've ever come across.

A statement issued by the BCC. Bloody fools that they are!

30 September 2011

Today, a court ordered the destruction of a dog called Lennox.

While we can appreciate that the court ruling will be upsetting for Lennox’s owners, the council believes this is the right decision.

Lennox was seized by council dog wardens because they believed he was a pitbull terrier type and also dangerous, and this was backed up by an independent expert who gave evidence on the council’s behalf.

We believe that if Lennox was released back to his owners, he poses a serious risk not just to them, but to members of the public.

The council would like to see changes to the current legislation on dog control, including greater clarity on the definition of a dangerous dog. However until any such changes are introduced by Government, Belfast City Council has a statutory obligation to enforce the current legislation in full, and in doing so is committed to protecting the health and safety of the public.

If we had failed in this regard, and in the event of Lennox being involved in attacking or injuring a person, the council would be found to be at fault.

Today’s ruling also vindicates the actions of our staff who have had to endure a relentless, and still ongoing, campaign of intimidation and abuse throughout these legal proceedings.

Threatening letters, including one drenched in petrol, were put through the letterboxes of two female officers and another member of staff had her car tyres slashed outside her home. Campaigners also inundated the council’s social networking sites and embarked on an online hate campaign against individual members of staff.

This kind of intimidation against our staff is to be utterly condemned, and it is totally unacceptable that officers, who were merely enforcing the law as they are required to do, were subjected to such a sustained and threatening campaign.

You can also download a copy of the written judgement handed down by His Honour Judge Rodgers on Friday 30 September 2011 (PDF - 2.69MB).

This document was produced by the Northern Ireland Courts and Tribunals Service.

I think my heart would break for one of my own babies locked up for that long. But if it appeared I wasn't going to get them out, would I really want my poor dog to live it's life in a 3x5 foot cage? a response to my letter, please read:
Thank you for your recent e-mail to the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland concerning Lennox

I appreciate the feelings that this case has caused but this is not a responsibility for the Northern Ireland Office.

The policy on dangerous dogs in Northern Ireland is not a matter for the United Kingdom Government but is devolved to the Northern Ireland Executive. It is a responsibility for the Minister for Agriculture and Rural Development. Contact details for the Minister can be found at .

Local Councils are responsible for enforcing the dog control legislation in Northern Ireland; in this case it is Belfast City Council. Their contact details can be found at the following link:

I hope that this response helps.

All dogs should only be judged on their behaviour, not their breed or appearance!!!! Human beings, poor specimens that we are, are judged on behaviour not appearance, race, creed or colour!!!! What is the difference?!!! I have followed and fought this campaign from the start. What is wrong with these humans?!!!!!!!
