Yes John animals endure misery in in the good ol' USA. but we don't eat our pets, and some how there is some progress in animals laws; In China the government don't give a shit about animals period.

I was touched by these people & the shelters that have opened up in China for the animals. There is a beam of hope to change things in that country for the innocent animals. Thanks to all those people stepping forward to help.

another beautiful reality in the defense of dogs and cats
these are six heroes, because they live in China and to take steps to help dogs and cats,
may be their only true hero.
These good news, being real, make us more optimistic, the world will change
thanks so much Genoveva

There is animal cruelty in every country, sadly.
Pointing the finger at only one country does no good.
We must be a voice for animals worldwide, and never give up.
I note this with hope, for there are good people worldwide too.
Lets find the good people in all countries and help them end animal cruelty.

Thank you Genoveva for creating this page!
My name is Julie O'Neill and I am the photographer and writer of the article. If you are interested in giving to these wonderful people saving animals in China, please write to me directly and I can put you into contact with english speaking Chinese that work with the shelters. I understand that their websites are all in Chinese and difficult to navigate but IT IS possible to give. The "I Save You" shelter in Wuhan, can accept donations via bank transfer. I can assure you that they NEED your help now and every cent will go straight to saving more lives.
Thank you everyone for your wonderful comments and support.

Wow! They are housing 800 dogs, 1200 dogs, cats, mixed animals. Some have intercepted trucks on their way to slaughter. This is truly hopeful.. And to those who think China is no different from other countries, the articles reminds us of the daily type of torture and the fact that dogs and cats are on the menu...Thanx Genoveva and to Julie for chiming in!
