THE peak representative body for local councils in Queensland will be appealing against the State Government law that bans them from holding their own polls.

Helen this is fascinating. As an American I grew up believing in the right of the individuall to speak and the idea of conducting polls and having votes on issues that opinion varies-- that was a basic right.

As all tv watchers have learned, those charges in curt also have all sorts of rights. What many oin NL did not realize is thta those rights in the US are not rights in the NL. NOw in Australia a local has discoverd they are giving their constituency more rights then the law allows.
