I forwarded this to my friend from the Yukon because she goes hiking with her dogs and I worry about her and pray for her a lot. Grizzlies are fierce and you do not want to mess with them. I met a wildlife biologist at the Whitehorse airport who said that in a battle over habitat it was feared that grizzlies would wipe out polar bears, and with the melting arctic ice polar bears are moving into grizzly habitat. I was relieved to find that they have iceberg sanctuaries as well though. Thanks for posting.

I hope that they didnt kill each other though..but wow to come across that! its the chance of a lifetime...i would also be glued to the spot with my camera...incredible, i bet he was shaking, but the photos came out great! My knees would have been knocking together im sure...great stuff.
