In a 5-4 decision, the Supreme Court upheld the state of Ohio's egregious policy of removing people from the voting rolls if they had not voted in a while. Ohio has purged 2 million voters since 2011 and of course, Black voters are TWICE...

When people do not vote in California (not primary) but major elections they are removed from voting until they register again. I agree with that. Same day voter registration could be good, but fake ids etc. could make this bad. Not sure...gotta think and return. OK I'll sleep on it ~ fake ballot under my pillow tonight. smiles just can't weigh the pros and cons to both ways ~ I think it is all done by crooks personally. SORRY ~ I'm tainted

MmAway M has a point. I live in Ohio and I can understand the purge. I know people who only vote in Presidential elections every 4 years. They would not be purged. If a person doesn't vote for 2 years they are sent a notice requesting that they are still at this address and do they want to remain on the voter registration. All one needs to do is tic yes and return the card. If you do not return the card you are given a further 4 years and if there is still no vote you are purged. I see nothing wrong with this. Most of the people purged are deceased and/or moved out of the area and registered elsewhere. If they ignored the card and haven't voted for over 6 years why should their name be cluttering up the voter lists.
