Sheriff Finds Owner of 17 Chained Dogs (VIDEO)

Animals  (tags: dogs, pit bulls, chained, thin, unhealthy )

The dogs appear to be lean and in poor health. There are empty water jugs nearby and barrels that supply limited shelter. Wesley Poke owns the dogs, which he said are pit bulls. The only other thing on Poke's property is a trailer.

They live in f-ing BARRELS!!! This is LEGAL???!! He gets to keep them for 10 more days as long as they are "well cared for???" THEY LIVE IN CHAINS AND ONLY BARRELS FOR SHELTER!! This is sickening!!

Who in their right mind would think that they could manage and care for 17 dogs? This has the distinct profile of a Dog Fighter. I hope they checked for scars and signs of ring fighting. Thanks Betty, noted and read.

HELLO SHERIFF - dogs that are chained like that & live in a barrel are fighting dogs, better do some homework.

I watched the video and the dogs I saw could barely stand or walk! the owner stated the dogs were for some type of "weight pulling" show... yeah, whatever! the poor dog could barely pull itself up this is sick, I am happy to hear the sheriff stating his concern and that he will be following up on this situation, the jerk needs to know people will not stand for this abuse and neglect!

Hopefully, they will keep a very close eye on this idiot now and build a stronger case against him and maybe catch more than just him.

NOTED. It is illegal in the Netherlands (my country) to have chained dogs, or dogs living outside without sufficient/good shelter. I have never seen a chained dog in my life. Unknown here.

Well I hope they chain the owner up somewhere in the hot sun with no food and water or shelter. Jail for animal abusers!

Let them put the man on a chain give him a barrel for shelter and see how how humane it is for him. How dare these people let them keep him for 10 more days and didn't have water? Wish I lived close to that dog he would be gone. Trailer he probaly doesn't even live there. Poor baby.

The sheriff should have taken control of those dogs immediately. Just another case of not taking action because the laws are not being broken. I say it is time to CHANGE the laws. Chained dogs and barrel houses is hardly what I call humane treatment.

Wether the dogs are fighting dogs or not, they can't help being born, and deserve good shelter.
The owner should be brought to justice, and the dogs have to be taken to a better place.
Why didn't this sherrif take proper actions ?
We have a friend that adopted a formerly chained sheaperd, called Sam, from Spain, it is a wonderful dog.
Our dog Breezer and Sam are the best friends now.

Oh I'm so calling him! this is sick! And I agree with everyone who said how can anyone PROPERLY care for 17 dogs?! This definitely seems like someone using dogs for fighting. Whether it's fighting or not, these dogs should NOT be there in those conditions.

How can you allow this type of conditions for any living thing? They deserve better and the owner deserves worse.
