Well that is a warm wellcome! It shows that Austria still is a democracy with freedom of speech...the more you look at the activist case the more you figure out how rediculous this is! They should have been free after the green party first asked for the release! And after Amnesty international investigated the case!

I have called with Amnesty international Vienna Austria today to ask why there is no information about this big human right scandal on their website!
The answer they have no priority....WTF hungerstrike not important to AI????
One of the leading human rights organizers on this earth wrote me this:
I hope you don't mind that I write to you off that list, but it goes a little bit on my nerves. Most people there seem not to understand what it all is about and how the 10 feel!
Thanks for writing and phoning ai Austria - its a true scandal!!!

The chairman of the VEREIN GEGEN TIERFABRIKEN (VGT) DDr. Martin Balluch, is now being artificially fed in the prison hospital wing of Wien Josefstadt. He has been on hunger strike as a result of the obvious arbitrary treatment of the national police ever since his imprisonment on the 21st of May 2008.

However, this method of feeding Martin is a temporary measure on behalf of the prison in order that Martin gets nourishment over the next two weeks.

DDr. Martin Balluch comments: "For 2 weeks now, I have been stationed in the hospital ward of the prison, since I am in hunger strike. This is the only opportunity available to me to protest against this unbearable unjust course of action of the state against me. I have already lost 21kg of bodyweight and am taking medication against stomach and muscle cramps. Since Saturday, the 14th of June, I am being nourished artificially through infusion.

Concrete accusations are still missing.

The VGT continues to protest against the incomprehensible approach of the authorities.

Not only are real evidence and accusations still missing, which would justify the imprisonment on remand, but the Public Prosecutors Office is still refusing to return even copies of the confiscated computers and other materials.
