Do you think that 20% profit and the costs of prescription drugs has some kind of correlation?pharmaceutical companies fear that lowering prices for the neediest is a slippery slope. Big Pharma says high prices fund research and innovation.

Dearest Friends:

In my time at Care2 I've met some of the most wonderful people of my life. Thank you for being one of them and sharing with me your grace, joy, love and very being!

As you may know, I have struggled with breast cancer for more than three years now, treating it as naturally as possible, with very solid, rather remarkable results. Alternative or conventional treatment is expensive in America today. More $200,000.00 has been spent out-of-pocket on both. I am exhausted by the American healthScare system!!! You all have encountered its demise in one way or another I am certain.

A beautiful book was born of this amazing experience, one my editor, who has worked with many of the best writers we have read, believes will be a strong commercial success, once published. Already he recommends incredible people for the book's forward and for endorsements - people like Oprah. Smile.

You may also know I've been offered a position-in-trade as at the Ann Wigmore Natural Health Institute in Puerto Rico, a wondrous healing institute where I am more than certain the final pieces of breast cancer will simply melt away. A perfectly lovely ending to the book, I would say. I am scheduled to be at the Institute by month's end. I have waited for this opportunity for almost ten years now. You can imagine how excited and blessed I feel.

My conundrum is simple. The last two years BodyByBliss (TM) has done well, but not well enough for me to recover what breast cancer has required. As you know personally, our economy on the brink, has been less than. I ask that you forward this email discreetly so I may be assisted in my life's transition now. Cancer survivors particularly will understand this note and its necessity., an educational website filled to the brim with important health and well-being information, has a contribution area, for people to show their appreciation of life-saving information. Anyone who feels inclined may contribute to the continued healing process my precious life has become, and know they too may face a moment like this, when their dream is so close, yet too far.

I've done all I can, my very best. (I have no family and recently my former beau decided a more wealthy woman without breast cancer was a better partner for him.)

Today I ask for you to help a bit. A bit from many friends, acquaintances and loved ones goes a very, very long way. The time is now, right now. I do trust you understand and respect this note and its intent. I truly pray you never encounter a serious illness and come to know the delicate, thin life-line allowed you from that moment on.

Thank you in advance for your sweet compassion. Please know I know you do the best you can. I thank you eternally.

Blissings, Ani

"You are the light of the world." - Yeshua

More specifically:

OK. However time is so very limited. Immediate Needs in Order: $2000 to retain counsel to stop former beau from eviction, an act that would make me homeless. Smile. $500 - Flight to PR, with lots of luggage (moving there for 2 years) $8000 for move of home, relocation and basic transition expenses, including a car there. (Am still trying to sell mine here - if that happens I am fine all the way around.) $2000 for editor to continue work with book. Foundation formation necessary. BBB has simply been a DBA. Don't know whatelse you may need to know: When diagnosed insurance canceled. ED of NMIP refused, while she was being treated for cancer conventionally, to waive my 6 month waiting period, which cost me more than 100,000 in out-of-pocket treatment costs. Oncologist recommended chemo that didn't work because my BC is very estrogen driven. Medical industry refuses to work with me in alternative methods and I am almost cancer-free. SUV (standard measurement of activity) is 2, thus making the cancer already "indolent" or "inactive." No one will do surgery without my consent to radiation or CHEMO AGAIN. Abuser/rescuer/controller former beau stranded me in beautiful place where doing business was almost impossible, and getting my organic groceries was impossible - 2 hour drive into SF. But book 90% done. Editor works with Deepak and many others like him, thus, the Oprah endorsement. BBB will be more successful after book and Ann Wigmore Institute healing. God/dess what else? Love, Ani

Please join this group and help her!

The Healthcare Rip-off

Read The Healthcare Rip-off and stay healthier, wealthier and wiser. Learn how to choose a better and less expensive physician and a better and less expensive dentist. Learn how to avoid aggressive medicine and aggressive dentistry

The Healthcare Rip-off tells it like it is. Why is the USA the only industrialized nation without universal healthcare? Why are our citizens put at the mercy, or lack of it, of the money hungry professionals and their cohorts – the pharmaceutical companies?

Much of our health problems are brought upon ourselves by our obsession with tasty, unhealthy foods and the siren calls of fast, fattening food commercials. Advertising may be educational, but it may also be deluding.

You will also learn that the dental or medical insurance you have is short changing you -- you’re paying for something you never get.

This is the first book, as told by a dentist, that blows the whistle on his money hungry, make that greedy, fellow professionals. It also tells you how to pick and choose, what to look for and what to avoid, when seeking a dentist. It would also hold true for a physician. You’ll learn how to avoid medical and dental problems and what to do when they do occur. You’ll learn that healthcare professionals are only in the repair business. They rarely stress prevention other than lip service.

Actually, the drug manufacturers all have assistance programs to provide free or low-cost drugs to many people who can't afford them. Various sites showing where these can be obtained are:

Thank you Lindsey! Its good to see people who care2! Do you know how many people would need this help in the USA? 40.000.000 do you think that any of these people get the help that you say they can all get? If that would be the case than Oprah would not have had Mister Moore on her show to tell about the health Care system! We are taling about 20 Billion profit out of a turnover of 50 Billion....Now if they would give away free medication to the 40 Million people in the USA who need that what would happen with the profits?

This cancer story is powered by the DRUG MAFIA .

Even if 5 Million people get help this still means that 35 Million do not receive the help they
need this is just PR! PROPAGANDA !

I have a friend from the USA who had to go to EUROPE because she could not afford to have cancer in the USA!

My experience of the healthcare system has been extremely different. I've always been quite happy with my physicians and the hospitals who have treated me through the past 50 years. And I've never had any problem with my insurer, Blue Cross. Hope that run of good luck continues.

Lindsey, you'd have to disclose WHO is paying for your healthcare insurance and what your benefits are ... just as a "sample" for us to compare against those Americans who are not as fortunate as you are.

Tuesday October 7, 2008, 11:38 am

And you asked a question, Hans, about pharmaceutical profits funding new research. Obviously this would be true. One cannot fund new pharmaceutical research (which is extremely expensive) without good profits.

Since our pharmaceutical companies are private corporations, not government agencies, I have no problem with the profits they make. I may dislike having to pay more for drugs; however, they do have the right to charge what they want.

Hans L (958)

They do have the long as the government agrees here in Europe we have one woman who is on the list of most powerful woman who has stopt this in Europe! They cannot take every price now the prices are down by up to 90% not 9 % no 90%! Thats Europe! I dont know the system in the USA but i know that the profits come from all over the world not just from rich americans! POOR PEOPLE WHO NEED IT HAVE ALSO PAID WAY TOO MUCH FOR DECADES! But as Nancy Pelosi told everybody the party is over! No more GREED! Inacptable greed is the reason for 90% of the problems!

Competition is important for every market!
Neelie Kroes was a Member of Parliament in the Netherlands for the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD). Later she was the Dutch State Secretary and Minister of Transport and Water Management. Neelie Kroes was member of the board of commissioners of several multinationals. She currently is the European Commissioner for Competition.
She will make Pfizer Pay 800 Million if she thinks that they do not allow competition in Europe! She is the most expensive woman in the world LOL and i love her for all that she does to allow competition! Competition gives us better products and fair prices!

We had the BIO CHEMIE here in Tyrol! used to be Sandoz now Novartis! Great medicines great profits! Here in Austria Pharmacies have made millions for years and years but its over now in all of Europe! The prices are regulated and that is the only way to keep it affordable there is no other industry that is as corrupt as the pharma industry!

Thank you for that Novartis hint:
Swiss drug maker Novartis on Thursday reported a 45% drop in its fourth-quarter profit, after taking a $444 million charge to revamp its pharmaceutical business affected by generic competition for several of its blockbuster products competition is GOOD

Bottom line, IMO, ALL CORPORATIONS have only thing in mind as they CONVINCE you they're on your side - THEIR PROFITS AND BONUSES BASED ON PROFIT. I worked on Wall Street for too long not to know the game. And we're now expected to bail these criminals out?

I am not interested in drugs in my body. I am not interested in a medical community that operates on you for NO REAL GOOD REASON. Ten years ago I was told I needed to have spinal fusion BY THE NUMBER 1 back doctor at Massachusetts General Hospital. Guess what? I took up yoga and drank more water. Pain and compressed disc was gone in 3 months. Think of this - I would be walking around with a metal rod up my spine!!! No thank you.

Medicine in this country, throughout most of the Western world, unfortunately, is quite corrupted. Started when Nixon made Kaiser Permanante, his largest donor for his election after Bobby Kennedy was shot, a for profit business. We all have suffered incredibly, whether we are CONSCIOUS OF THE SUFFERING or not.

I have found natural healthcare to heal, traditional allopathic to steal.

Free markets with real competition work, but you need some regulation to make sure that all the people can afford healthcareproducts! Huge profits are OK if everything is clean but you know how clean the Pharmaindustry is...inviting doctors to Greece to study new products....

Kathy C had posted this on research

Research? research I got:)
Top 4 are corruption and the lower three are the profits.

The corrupt industry
Bribery and corruption, fraud in the testing of drugs, criminal
negligence in the manufacture of drugs, dubious advertising claims -

Drug companies are the most profitable industry
The drug companies claim that they need large earnings - 125,835,595,000

The profits big pharma make only go into research for more drugs which they can make more profits on not real cures or prevention. If we could prevent illness then they would have no market!!

Some drugs are used in an attempt to prevent disease (vaccines, drugs to prevent heart disease, drugs to prevent osteoporosis, and quite a lot of others). Of course, very few things can be prevented entirely; however, some work quite well.

Notice that the Drug Manufacturer Pfizer makes the most $ at $19,337.0; which makes drugs for Cancer. They are out for blood & profits, not to help cure anyone unfortunately.

Most pharmaceutical research is done by Universities, contracted out from big pharma. They get an excellently researched product at a price that is unmatchable by private institutions or their own labs. Meanwhile, the schools get a pittance for all the work they do, and students' tuition continues to rise. So the Universities get screwed, the students get screwed, the sick get screwed, especially those without insurance, and the companies stockholders and boards get the big bucks. It should be enough to make us all sick!

Thank you everyone for such great information and contribution.

TRUTH IS LARGE CORPORATIONS FEED OFF OF THE WORLD POPULACE, as their "executives" rake in the money. See the movie "The Corporation." You will be educated quite effectively. SURREAL.

ALL CAN BE CURED NATURALLY, I am convinced after my research and experience. EVERYTHING. God/dess doesn't make mistakes, frankly.

Big Pharma says high prices fund research and innovation. is that a myth?

Most pharmaceutical research is done by Universities, contracted out from big pharma. They get an excellently researched product at a price that is unmatchable by private institutions or their own labs. Meanwhile, the schools get a pittance for all the work they do, and students' tuition continues to rise. So the Universities get screwed, the students get screwed, the sick get screwed, especially those without insurance, and the companies stockholders and boards get the big bucks. It should be enough to make us all sick!

Lets listen to the number one profit maker in the world is Pfizer the best in research?

As advances in medical care help more and more people live longer lives, the need for new medicines to keep people healthy continues to grow.

Pfizer researchers and scientists are working to discover and develop new ways to treat and prevent life-threatening and debilitating illnesses like Alzheimer's disease and cancer, as well as to improve wellness and quality of life across a range of therapeutic areas.

The best way to prevent illnesses is to live a drug free and poison free life.

So the industry keeps people healthy? With toxic chemicals?????
I rather believe this one...
We believe in all-natural preventative health maintenance. Minimizing your exposure to toxic chemicals is the key to staying healthy.

Holistic healthcare takes the entire or "whole" person into account when finding the correct path for one's wellness. We believe that in order to heal a natural body, the body must be treated with natural forms of medicine. In other words, the whole being needs to be kept balanced by using whole herbs and whole natural ingredients.

We'll also examine alternative and complementary therapies for health maintenance and wellness. Whether it's massage, acupuncture, aromatherapy, homeopathy or any one of a number of natural healing modalities, our aim is to give you information and choices when it comes to your all-natural healthcare. Many people feel that alternative medicine is something that is new. Actually it's very ancient. Our modern medicine is the new comer. By going back to the old ways of healing, we can make use of the information that has come before, and balance it with what we know today. Even our animal friends can benefit from all-natural and organic pet care.

You can benefit from the experiences of member here in Care2! Like my good friend Cassie!

Hi… my name is Cassandra.

In June of 2006 I was diagnosed with a stage III malignant breast cancer, and by September it had spread to four of my lymph nodes. To make matters worse, the tumor had an aggressiveness score of 8 out of 9 on the BRS scale, and tested negative for all three of the major hormone receptors (ER, PR, and HER-2) - meaning I was dealing with an extremely aggressive cancer that was spreading fast, and at the same time my treatment options were severely limited.

Since then, I have endured 12 rounds of chemotherapy as well as surgery. When it came time to operate, there was only one 8mm tumor left - and I had started with five of them, two of which were over 5cm in size! I owe my success to the many alternative therapies I used to both augment the chemo, as well as help the body deal with its side-effects. Therapies which were neither recommended to me by my doctor, nor paid for by my insurance.

Going through an experience such as this tends to turn you into an activist. In researching my disease and also my road to healing, I have found many things appallingly wrong with how cancer is researched and treated, as well as how people are educated about its prevention. It is now my wish to assist others in finding a better way.
My battle is not yet over. My particular type of cancer has a 90% recurrence rate, and a long-term survival rate of under 14%. During the past year, I have studied ways to ensure that it does not come back. These same methods show great promise not only in preventing and treating cancer, but so many other diseases as well.

As you read this, I have a neighbor rapidly losing his battle with leukemia, the mother of a dear friend with an inoperable pancreatic cancer, and someone I met at my clinic who has recently been diagnosed with a 2nd brain tumor… and he’s just 22 years old! In addition to helping as many people as I can around me, I plan to also make my findings available via this website.

$10,000 is a reasonable goal, and in my opinion a small price to pay… considering the average cost of treating a single cancer patient is currently $300,000 to $400,000! No wonder there is more interest from the mainstream in treating this disease, than actually curing it. visit her site and help her help you!

You can rely on your friends dont believe what the Pharma industry is trying to sell you!
Unless you want to be a lifelong addict!

My experience spans the board from working to being disabled and I found the type of insurance you have can dictate providers and treatment. From the first phone call on you may be disappointed and unless you have commercial insurance you may not get an appointment. If you have Medicare you may not find participants at all.

People are losing everything they worked for in order to pay for Rx, nedical care treatments to keep them alive or that treat conditions without cures but that require prescription management and quality of life is declining. Anyone with disabling health problems that needs assistance with medical care suffer. I once worked for larger employers when doctors or hospitals were guaranteed 90-100% payment direct from insurance companies within 30 days of billing and out of network providers got 70% paid directly. Larger employers passed on high-volume premium discounts for excellent medical insurance coverage with affordable premiums, lower deductibles and copays that covered broad range of treatment approved for all levels of providers including prescription benefits, dental and vision. Ihad standing appointments and now have a hard time finding funds for the fuel and upkeep of a vehicle to get me to the doctor drugstore whatever. Unless a person is independently wealthy or politicians or unless someone has strong commercial insurance coverage through their work or their spouses work, there will be struggles with high cost and fewer benefits.

After years paying for disability insurance hoping to never need it is there is are fewer Medicare participants because they are paid pennies on the dollar billed. In one case, I called to find a doctor for exams. None around. Health departments lost programs such as gyn exams for women 40-60 who are high risk age and it is wrong. There are fewer sliding scale programs in clinics with no doctors to treat patients.

Medicare Part D does not cover all prescriptions and that is cash out of pocket for people struggling to put food on the table.

Pharm. companies offered programs for people with qualifiying incomes so medicines shipped directly from the manufacturer to the doctors who dispensed to the patient however these same pharm. companies discontinued participation immediately for anyone that qualified for Medicare Part D and they refused to hear my appeal asking them to extend my participation for the 6 month - 1 year waiting period.

So my savings got wiped out and I soon found out cash prescription price fee schedule is flexible and most drug stores will do a price match for cash items, if you ask them to and it pays to shop around. I also found that once I had the program in place generics were filled automatically even though they said it to and then declined that notion soon I found similar complaints filed and legal battles as a matter of public viewing for this very problem they claimed to have not existed.

I changed pharmacies when correcting errors became part of hours waiting for my medicine to be filled insisting they honor the doctors written order for name brand. If it is this difficult at my age I cry to think about that people over 65 or 70 go through. I want to learn more about the little bit I have figured out about manufacturers guidelines and specific components and disposition of name brand medicines but to date have found nothing like that for generics which are probably imported.

Mine is only one small point of view about my experience with prescriptions since I lost my commercial insurance when monthly COBRA premiums were nearly as much as my rent so yeah, I think is all about big business and profit and making sure nothing gets in the way of that profit.

I really do pray that one day soon this will change.

Thank you

Well this sounds like big profits on the one side and bad healthcare on the other side!

TIME FOR CHANGE LIKE IN EUROPE! You need our iron Lady Nelie Kroes!

This will not change unless you change it! Oprah is with you i have seen Mr Sicko at her show and have heared the answers from the people who try to defend the american healthcare system! Fact is that this sucks! 20 Billion profit with cancer products is GREED AT IS BEST brought to you by the Bush government!

Its time for good healthcare for all citizens! Not just for the rich!

Our health care system is a travesty, and that is an understatement. Yes they may pay for you to go to the doctor and get a prescription here and there, but don't get REALLY SICK. Then you are up sh-- creek w/out that paddle. Ani, I am so glad you came forward with this. I will do what I can, and I hope others will too!!

Phyllis some people defend the system but what i have seen in the Oprah show with Michael Moore was more than enough to understand that the sytem needs to be changed immediately!
