Dearest Friends:

In my time at Care2 I've met some of the most wonderful people of my life. Thank you for being one of them and sharing with me your grace, joy, love and very being!

As you may know, I have struggled with breast cancer for more than three years now, treating it as naturally as possible, with very solid, rather remarkable results. Alternative or conventional treatment is expensive in America today. More $200,000.00 has been spent out-of-pocket on both. I am exhausted by the American healthScare system!!! You all have encountered its demise in one way or another I am certain.

A beautiful book was born of this amazing experience, one my editor, who has worked with many of the best writers we have read, believes will be a strong commercial success, once published. Already he recommends incredible people for the book's forward and for endorsements - people like Oprah. Smile.

You may also know I've been offered a position-in-trade as at the Ann Wigmore Natural Health Institute in Puerto Rico, a wondrous healing institute where I am more than certain the final pieces of breast cancer will simply melt away. A perfectly lovely ending to the book, I would say. I am scheduled to be at the Institute by month's end. I have waited for this opportunity for almost ten years now. You can imagine how excited and blessed I feel.

My conundrum is simple. The last two years BodyByBliss (TM) has done well, but not well enough for me to recover what breast cancer has required. As you know personally, our economy on the brink, has been less than. I ask that you forward this email discreetly so I may be assisted in my life's transition now. OK. However time is so very limited. Immediate Needs in Order: $2000 to retain counsel to stop former beau from eviction, an act that would make me homeless. Smile. $500 - Flight to PR, with lots of luggage (moving there for 2 years) $8000 for move of home, relocation and basic transition expenses, including a car there. (Am still trying to sell mine here - if that happens I am fine all the way around.) $2000 for editor to continue work with book. Foundation formation necessary. BBB has simply been a DBA. Don't know whatelse you may need to know: When diagnosed insurance canceled. ED of NMIP refused, while she was being treated for cancer conventionally, to waive my 6 month waiting period, which cost me more than 100,000 in out-of-pocket treatment costs. Oncologist recommended chemo that didn't work because my BC is very estrogen driven. Medical industry refuses to work with me in alternative methods and I am almost cancer-free. SUV (standard measurement of activity) is 2, thus making the cancer already "indolent" or "inactive." No one will do surgery without my consent to radiation or CHEMO AGAIN. Abuser/rescuer/controller former beau stranded me in beautiful place where doing business was almost impossible, and getting my organic groceries was impossible - 2 hour drive into SF. But book 90% done. Editor works with Deepak and many others like him, thus, the Oprah endorsement. BBB will be more successful after book and Ann Wigmore Institute healing. God/dess what else? Do you know how many people would need this help in the USA? 40.000.000 do you think that any of these people get the help that you say they can all get? If that would be the case than Oprah would not have had Mister Moore on her show to tell about the health Care system! We are taling about 20 Billion profit out of a turnover of 50 Billion....Now if they would give away free medication to the 40 Million people in the USA who need that what would happen with the profits?

My experience of the healthcare system has been extremely different. I've always been quite happy with my physicians and the hospitals who have treated me through the past 50 years. And I've never had any problem with my insurer, Blue Cross. Hope that run of good luck continues.

And you asked a question, Hans, about pharmaceutical profits funding new research. Obviously this would be true. One cannot fund new pharmaceutical research (which is extremely expensive) without good profits.

Since our pharmaceutical companies are private corporations, not government agencies, I have no problem with the profits they make. I may dislike having to pay more for drugs; however, they do have the right to charge what they want.

Neelie Kroes was a Member of Parliament in the Netherlands for the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD). Later she was the Dutch State Secretary and Minister of Transport and Water Management. Neelie Kroes was member of the board of commissioners of several multinationals. She currently is the European Commissioner for Competition.
She will make Pfizer Pay 800 Million if she thinks that they do not allow competition in Europe! She is the most expensive woman in the world LOL and i love her for all that she does to allow competition! Competition gives us better products and fair prices!

We had the BIO CHEMIE here in Tyrol! used to be Sandoz now Novartis! Great medicines great profits! Here in Austria Pharmacies have made millions for years and years but its over now in all of Europe! The prices are regulated and that is the only way to keep it affordable there is no other industry that is as corrupt as the pharma industry!

Bottom line, IMO, ALL CORPORATIONS have only thing in mind as they CONVINCE you they're on your side - THEIR PROFITS AND BONUSES BASED ON PROFIT. I worked on Wall Street for too long not to know the game. And we're now expected to bail these criminals out?

I am not interested in drugs in my body. I am not interested in a medical community that operates on you for NO REAL GOOD REASON. Ten years ago I was told I needed to have spinal fusion BY THE NUMBER 1 back doctor at Massachusetts General Hospital. Guess what? I took up yoga and drank more water. Pain and compressed disc was gone in 3 months. Think of this - I would be walking around with a metal rod up my spine!!! No thank you.

Medicine in this country, throughout most of the Western world, unfortunately, is quite corrupted. Started when Nixon made Kaiser Permanante, his largest donor for his election after Bobby Kennedy was shot, a for profit business. We all have suffered incredibly, whether we are CONSCIOUS OF THE SUFFERING or not.

I have found natural healthcare to heal, traditional allopathic to steal.

Some drugs are used in an attempt to prevent disease (vaccines, drugs to prevent heart disease, drugs to prevent osteoporosis, and quite a lot of others). Of course, very few things can be prevented entirely; however, some work quite well.

Hi… my name is Cassandra.

In June of 2006 I was diagnosed with a stage III malignant breast cancer, and by September it had spread to four of my lymph nodes. To make matters worse, the tumor had an aggressiveness score of 8 out of 9 on the BRS scale, and tested negative for all three of the major hormone receptors (ER, PR, and HER-2) - meaning I was dealing with an extremely aggressive cancer that was spreading fast, and at the same time my treatment options were severely limited.

Since then, I have endured 12 rounds of chemotherapy as well as surgery. When it came time to operate, there was only one 8mm tumor left - and I had started with five of them, two of which were over 5cm in size! I owe my success to the many alternative therapies I used to both augment the chemo, as well as help the body deal with its side-effects. Therapies which were neither recommended to me by my doctor, nor paid for by my insurance.

Going through an experience such as this tends to turn you into an activist. In researching my disease and also my road to healing, I have found many things appallingly wrong with how cancer is researched and treated, as well as how people are educated about its prevention. It is now my wish to assist others in finding a better way.
My battle is not yet over. My particular type of cancer has a 90% recurrence rate, and a long-term survival rate of under 14%. My experience spans the board from working to being disabled and I found the type of insurance you have can dictate providers and treatment. From the first phone call on you may be disappointed and unless you have commercial insurance you may not get an appointment. If you have Medicare you may not find participants at all.

People are losing everything they worked for in order to pay for Rx, nedical care treatments to keep them alive or that treat conditions without cures but that require prescription management and quality of life is declining. Anyone with disabling health problems that needs assistance with medical care suffer. I once worked for larger employers when doctors or hospitals were guaranteed 90-100% payment direct from insurance companies within 30 days of billing and out of network providers got 70% paid directly. Larger employers passed on high-volume premium discounts for excellent medical insurance coverage with affordable premiums, lower deductibles and copays that covered broad range of treatment approved for all levels of providers including prescription benefits, dental and vision. Ihad standing appointments and now have a hard time finding funds for the fuel and upkeep of a vehicle to get me to the doctor drugstore whatever. Unless a person is independently wealthy or politicians or unless someone has strong commercial insurance coverage through their work or their spouses work, there will be struggles with high cost and fewer benefits.

After years paying for disability insurance hoping to never need it is there is are fewer Medicare participants because they are paid pennies on the dollar billed. In one case, I called to find a doctor for exams. None around. Health departments lost programs such as gyn exams for women 40-60 who are high risk age and it is wrong. There are fewer sliding scale programs in clinics with no doctors to treat patients.

Medicare Part D does not cover all prescriptions and that is cash out of pocket for people struggling to put food on the table.

Pharm. companies offered programs for people with qualifiying incomes so medicines shipped directly from the manufacturer to the doctors who dispensed to the patient however these same pharm. companies discontinued participation immediately for anyone that qualified for Medicare Part D and they refused to hear my appeal asking them to extend my participation for the 6 month - 1 year waiting period.

So my savings got wiped out and I soon found out cash prescription price fee schedule is flexible and most drug stores will do a price match for cash items, if you ask them to and it pays to shop around. I also found that once I had the program in place generics were filled automatically even though they said it to and then declined that notion soon I found similar complaints filed and legal battles as a matter of public viewing for this very problem they claimed to have not existed.

I changed pharmacies when correcting errors became part of hours waiting for my medicine to be filled insisting they honor the doctors written order for name brand. If it is this difficult at my age I cry to think about that people over 65 or 70 go through. I want to learn more about the little bit I have figured out about manufacturers guidelines and specific components and disposition of name brand medicines but to date have found nothing like that for generics which are probably imported.

Mine is only one small point of view about my experience with prescriptions since I lost my commercial insurance when monthly COBRA premiums were nearly as much as my rent so yeah, I think is all about big business and profit and making sure nothing gets in the way of that profit.

I really do pray that one day soon this will change.

Our health care system is a travesty, and that is an understatement. Yes they may pay for you to go to the doctor and get a prescription here and there, but don't get REALLY SICK. Phyllis some people defend the system but what i have seen in the Oprah show with Michael Moore was more than enough to understand that the sytem needs to be changed immediately!
