I read about some Westinghouse and other young engineering scholarship papers where kids were trying to make a better condenser for the frigerant. It appears one kid had an ultrasonic or magnetic way to expand and condense the refridgerant in a circular pattern that seemed to be more efficient with less motor for pumping used.
