The words, of course, were not "new," but I credit Elfmagic for posting a comment that -- probably because it was at the right time, when I was ready for it -- made a HUGE impact on me.

Just three words: "We are ONE."

Mark, I admire all of your efforts on this cause, thank you my friend. This is noted, & signed. I am so against any kind of slavery, especially now more so, because we have the means to stop it from happening, yet it still goes on, unbeliable & sad.

TY Princess for the forward. And yes, "Mitakuye Oyasin" {we are one}
Blessings

Thank you, Mark. Your cause is profound. It's incredible to think of the cruelty that so many are subject to.

Hilke, your comments are uncalled for and offensive. (and have been reported) If you had taken the time to read the petition, you would have seen that this issue addresses women and children as the majority of the victims.

Also, for the rest of the readers, this is about the 5th or 6th article in a series on slavery from Mark, who has made it a person quest to see that slavery in the 21st Century is abolished.

All other articles, in fact, concentrated upon women and children. MEN, however, are also slaves in this abhorrent practice.

Slavery takes many forms, among them:

100's of thousands of women and children are illegally transported to the U.S. (and other countries) for the purpose of sexual trafficking.

Children are, literally, kept captive as laborers.

Adult immigrants are promised citizenship, and then they become the "slaves" of those who imported them, under threat of deportation or death.

Slavery affects both sexes, and all ages . . . but is nonetheless insidious.

Thanks Mark, Slavery is one of my passionate issues and I am not going to forget the International Day for its abolition - It's my birthday. If only the nations of the world would use their armies to wipe out this horror and other horrors instead of killing each other.
