Amy Roman, president of an animal rescue organization "100+Abandoned Dogs of the Everglades" stated the owner has removed the dog from the roof in the past, but that is only temporary. Roman has organized a protest on Wednesday to raise awareness that animals need better protection from cruel situations in Miami-Dade.

On Friday the Facebook page rang out with jubilation about Burro, however the supporters are not giving up:

Thanks for the update, Dianne, and thanks for all you are doing for the animals. I hope it is a permanent move for the dog. I wish I could join the protest but I will be working and can't take any time off right now but I am there in spirit.

Good news. It was hot here and I was just sitting in the house. It pained me to think of what it must be like for that poor dog. Bulldogs already have enough issues with breathing when in normal conditions. What an idiot. Now i have to finish reading the article so I can find out more.

He wants to put him back? i understand he does not want to be robbed. Who does? Using a dog like this though is wrong. Hopefully there will be changes before he is put back on the roof.

Poor dog needs to be loved and respected. Put this idiot on the roof and see how it feels. Some people do not deserve animals in their life.

Thank you Dianne, you're a great lady. As I live in Oz I won't be able to be there to protest but I will be there in spirit. Maybe Amy could put my name and country on a banner for me.
