The puppy, now named Joey is expected to be hospitalized for six to eight-weeks. His veterinarians hope his neck bones will heal on their own.

The ASPCA has also donated $10,000 for Joey's continued medical care, and it is hoped this sweet puppy will one day be available for adoption.

If you have any information as to the person responsible for this heinous crime, please call the Suffolk County SPCA at (631) 382-7722. All information will be strictly confidential.

OMG Poor Joey, how heartbreaking to see him like that I pray for a swift recovery as painfree as possible. The heartless ba***** who did this needs to be named and shamed and let loose among a few animal lovers.

I hope Joey heals well without any pain or suffering....I also wish we could throw the person out of a moving vehicle as re-payment of what he/she done...
