Darick Dashon Stallworth, 31, has been charged with three counts of felony animal abuse and two counts of misdemeanor animal neglect in the torture and death of five dogs at an abandoned house in the 5300 block of Wells Avenue in the Hamilton Heights neighborhood.

According to the probable cause statement, Stallworth admitted to police that he snapped one dog's neck, and that he had named the dog "Face." Face and two other dogs had been strangled by electrical cables. One dog's head was almost severed by the assault, the second had the skin of its face scraped off by its assailant.

Witnesses placed Stallworth at the scene, and claimed that he kept two live but emaciated dogs chained in the backyard of the house with no food or water. These same witnesses note that the house has been vacant for "at least a year."

The group put out a reward of $10,000 in the case and soon someone turned in Darick Stallworth. Stray Rescue says he has a history of animal abuse and that the big reward will now hopefully put an end to it with the three-felony convictions.

Ithink its great that he was caught i just hope he gets what he deserves THE MAX! Ialo really feel that its time to start prosecuting those who know something abusive and or neglectful is going on and do little to nothing to stop it they are complicent i feel and should b punished! Disgraceful that it took a reward of money to make the witness turn him in. Nonetheless I am glad that they did even though they were content to let the dogs suffer until the dollars floated before their eyes. Someone should have put a stop to him much sooner and THERE ARE NO EXCUSES FOR HIS SADISTIC BEHAVIOUR. I have come across many kids from horrific backgrounds in my teaching career and they did not take it out on innocent animals. Far too many do gooders make far too many excuses for antisocial and cruel behaviour. A crime is a crime - zero toleration especially where animals are concerned. Who else is there to look out for them. Humans domesticated dogs and it is now humans in large numbers who are victimising them either by starvation,abandonment,over-breeding of ridiculous unhealthy 'pedigrees', eating them,torturing them in or out of labs and demonising them by breed.My god the human race has a lot to answer for. I'm with Jan in that it's sad that it took reward money for someone to turn this man in.If t hey knew about it they should've reported it on their own. However, it's good that the man has been caught and has pled guilty to animal cruelty. May he get the maximum sentence for each dog that the law allows even though that won't be enough.

Take a good look. This is what a monster looks like. If the judge has any concern for the public, he will give him the maximum of 4 years on each count, but most likely this was a plea deal and he will serve only the 4 years they talked about in the video. The grandmother probably fainted in releaf because she knew she was next. I hope this monster dies in a similar fashion as these poor dogs. Maybe the judicial system will wake up and punish more severly for such crimes. It is a matter of time before this man does the same things to humans.

Noted! I'm thrilled he pled guilty. So hopefully the judge will realize that he was cognizant of his crimes, thus leading the judge to impose the harshest penalty possible.

Read & sadly noted, thanks Dianne Ly. I also left my comment on that article. Unfortunately, I live in Missouri, in St. Louis county, which is at least NOT in the city! People like that do not deserve a "second chance", or life, in my opinion. He did this, that we all know of, who really knows what's he's done in the past, or, worse, what he's capable of if left in society! Life in prison, no parole!
