The following is a story about a Great Dane named Ellie Grace. Prior to January 13, Ellie Grace lived in what can only be described as a hellish state of loneliness and suffering. Her life consisted of a chain, mud and solitude. A HAPPY ENDING!

Dogs are social animal. they need to feel part of a pack whether it be other dogs or humans.
Blessings on the kind people who rescued Ellie from her hellish and miserable lonely life.
So glad she now has a loving family who treats her the way she should be treated.

Very happy ending for Ellie Grace. I also read about Jasper while at the site. He was tied tightly to a tree and almost frozen to death but was rescued in time. I personally believe that pets belong in the house, but if they must be kept outdoors for some reason, they require adequate shelter with plenty of hay or straw, fresh water daily and plenty of food {unlimited in winter time}. Check your pets often! Even people who do care and feed their pets daily often underfeed in cold weather. The amount recommended on the dog food bag is NOT adequate for an animal outside in the cold. Some animals require 3X this amount just for sufficient calories to generate heat and support the growth of a winter coat of hair. It is inevitable that an animal that is tied will get tangled in the rope or chain. Collars must be checked against over-tightness. Be aware that leather collars often shrink in the rain. If you don't care...give the animal to someone who will. If you do care and circumstances force you to keep your pet outdoors...CHECK!..FEED!..WATER!. As often as you would walk your dog if he lived in the house is as often as you should check on him outside. Do not forget the LOVE. Offer this many times daily. This is the food for his soul.

Heartbreaking! But what a lovely ending!!!!!!! Thank you so much Dianne for sharing this!
Why do people buy a dog they don't want? This tethering has to be forbidden once and for all!
