It is official, the "gay" pit bull mix who was slated for destruction at a Jackson, Tenn., animal control facility, is safe.

Just wanted to add -
Just because you see an article in the media (like Dog News Examiner), please don't
assume tons of people saw it and will help..

A story of a lost dog in early January caught my eye and I called..and I was the first one who showed any interest.
That organization let us use their fb page, and pretty soon we had searches..and while it took us 2 weeks of searching hundreds of acres of trails, and waving signs at intersections etc, Mandy was found and reunited with her owner - 14 days after we started the search ;-)

So if it comes your way ~ NETWORK! ♥

I forgot to say: if you guys open the page up here
http://www.examiner.com/article/attention-the-gay-dog-has-left-the-building?CID=examiner_alerts_article
you can find, at the bottom of the article, the Facebook list of dogs who are still in danger. They will be killed shortly if not adopted. Please, if you live around Tennessee and can save one of them from that hell, do so.

I think this is so wonderful. I thought the whole thing was nuts from the start. The owner thought the dog was gay because he was "hunched over" another male dog. So what? I don't see why anyone should care even if their dog, cat, horse, etc WAS gay.

Good news that Elton is safe, as for him being gay the owner must be incredibly stupid - male dogs mount other male dogs as a dominance act not because they are having sex, dogs generally only have sex during mating season unlike people who would have sex with anything animal, vegetable and themselves which is very much what I suspect the previous owner should do.
