The word fight between dogs or animals in general terrifies me, is about as much of the violence that a man can reserve to an animal.
When we watch a movie where two actors are forced to fight each other by a third party, this takes us a feeling of resentment;
so try to put yourself in the place of the dog and think about the terror she feels when she sees the gate of his cage open.
Signed and noted with a great hope - thank you so much for this dear Dianne

UP-DATE ON 2/7/13,I spoke with the main police officer involved in the case and they now have Donald Williams in jail.They are doing all the can to see that this man gets the maximum punishment,I was told this case is just as horrific as the Michael Vick case.The 25 dogs sadly will be put down due to the inability for them to be re-homed,they have endured years of horrific abuse.They would never be able to be in a home with any other animals or children or to be free to just be "a normal" dog again,it is the most human thing that can be done for them.They are still awaiting for the order to put them down.On a positive note the cat that was used as bait is safe and happy and will be re-homed.

My target is being changed.And I am adding some links of some footage of the bust and the dogs and deplorable conditions they endured.

Rest assured that the authorities in this case are doing everything possible to put this man away.

Signed. I have trouble accepting that they can't be rehabilitated and re-homed. Why wouldn't they be acceptable as an only pet in homes without children? Micheal Vick's dogs were all successfully re-homed with the exception of two or three I believe. I don't believe it's not possible given the right circumstances!

People need to see how important it is to stop these violent dog fighting people,it is something that a lot of people do not realize how horrific and violent that these dog fighting rings are.Please sign and share this petition and help get Donald Williams so he never does this again.25 dogs will be put down because of him.He is in jail now(see my up-date above)someone suggested that all of William's assets be seized and used as a way to re-train and re-home these dogs,but that is not possible the dogs are too far gone for that to happen,they must be put down.

Mary these dogs were bred for generations to do this,this case is worse than Michael Vick's.This is the only life these dogs knew,Vick's dogs were mostly just random dogs here and there.Williams used just these dogs just for fighting,training and to be mean and strong,please view the three live links I posted above.

Kathy,Desanka,Kim,Mary,I spoke for over an hour to chief Picou,these dogs cannot be re-homed.It took 5 experienced teams 2 days to get all 25 dogs rescued and they had to resort to tranquilizing them to do it .He is a very compassionate animal advocate with over 25b years experience and he does not want to see them put down either,but agrees it is the most humane thing to do for them.

Dianne I do understand what you are saying. They have obviously been temperament tested and without the funds (remember everybody, Best Friends stepped in for the sick vick dogs) I work on facebook and know the reality of all the dogs that are not dangerous,, and we are still losing them to death because all the rescues are packed. Even with fosters helping them out. Time to STOP the BREEDERS. Then we would have the resources to help these dogs.

Noted. Signed and commented. Are we absolutely certain that these dogs would not respond to Best Friends or a similar group? Who classed them as "very agressive" ??? Has their behaviour improved/changed since they were removed from those atrocious conditions??? I find it so hard to accept that they're beyond help !!!

signed and will share. I wonder when people became so cruel and indifferent to what animals are subjected to. In the end, these poor dogs must die because savages have yet to realize that dog fighting is not a sport, but a venue for the sick at heart and soul. I cry as I write this as there seems to be no end in sight. I pray these poor dogs rest in peace, no longer having to suffer such brutality. I pray the monsters who did this and those who will continue to do this suffer the highest consequences that can be imposed on them and that they have no respite from any cruelty that deservedly comes their way. Thanks Dianne and Henriette for the fwd.

Dianne I have watched your work on animal rights for many years. I trust you and respect what you are saying. If you have already addressed this with them,,, I honestly haven't a clue what else I can do without the resources. I have a ton of beautiful dogs on my facebook now with others tagging me for help. We need new laws to confiscate property of those who fight these dogs. But that would not save these dogs. I know of nobody having the resources to help right now. Wondering if this was more high profile if Best friends would not step in then? Thank you for the friendship Dianne. I am very honored

From my new article...

Hinds County Sheriff's Department described the 25 seized dogs as extremely dangerous and aggressive.

According to the clarion, Hinds County Sheriff's Department spokesperson, Othor Cain stated the dog fighting training was more "advanced" than the one by Michael Vick. Authorities said the dogs were tied to heavy chains with treadmills, jaw shanks, and steroids as part of their training regimen. The animals were being trained similar to police dogs, however these dogs were being trained to fight and kill. Police suspect the dogs were being sold throughout the Southeast.

I to trust your judgement, and as one who owns a small pittie cross that was never involved in fighting, yet went tototally Alpha and has to be completely secured at all times I can say that as diligent as we are, no one should have to live with that type of fear hanging over their heads - neither the dogs nor the humans helping can benefit :-(
