Never underestimate the power of stupidity or evil. ten times more powerful than good
which is why it takes all of us to make the world what it should be,but isn't due to greed, selfishness ,perverson
and meaningless violence.

It's really sad they chose to make a decision based on one mis-informed site... you'd think that given the gravity of the situation and decision to be made, one would spend more time "conducting research" and compiling statistics from more reliable sources. It makes me wonder if any of the dogs could have be spared and rehabilitated if given time for a proper assessment instead...

From the article:

Jackson, MS: In a bloated sob-story to rectify killing 24 animals, Mississippi Animal Rescue League issued their statement Friday to condone and seek approval for mass euthanasia.

According to WAPT, on the morning of February 6, “Hinds County deputies and the Mississippi Animal Rescue League have seized more than two dozen pit bulls from a home in Utica.”

Every one of these dogs was put down based on misinformation gained from, a proclaimed anti-pit bull site founded by Colleen Lynn, a self-promoted anti-pit bull zealot.

The Mississippi Animal Rescue League has based their decision to kill the dogs on statistics gleaned from Lynn’s site, misprinted in their Facebook statement as ‘’

As the statement issued by MARL director Debra Boswell drones on and on and on, a person cannot help but wonder if any of these dogs were allowed even a tenth of the time it took to type out this extensive and prolonged volume.

According to the statement, MARL takes in 13,000 animals a year. They claim the dogs from the attack were bred to “attack, maim and kill.” The source, ‘,’ again mis-printed, Boswell bases her defense for destruction on Colleen Lynn’s ill-informed site.

“We love all animals, including pit bulls. Do we think it is unfair that this breed has been so abused and exploited? Yes. Do we think there are good pits in homes that will never become aggressive? Yes; but the dogs taken in this raid are not family pets."

"They are bred to attack, maim, and kill. We cannot ignore the statistics on the fatalities involving this breed. Sixty One percent (61%) of fatal dog attacks involve pit bulls. (www. Given the facts of severe injury and human fatality, we have a moral and legal responsibility to protect the public and other animals from dogs with a potential for unpredictable temperaments and the ability to kill. Reason must rule over emotion.”

We love all animals….even pit bulls. That sentiment alone conjures up suspicion that these dogs and puppies were never given a chance.

one word. unbelievable. even "an esteemed internationally recognized dog behaviorist and former shelter director" had this to say:

"“You tell me you have 10 week old puppies that are horribly aggressive. What measures have been taken to treat these puppies? At 10 weeks old nothing is carved in stone-they are young lives looking for guidance and compassion. A 10 week old pup showing aggressive dog-dog displays is a super candidate for rehabilitation and recovery. The great tragedy here is that too often poorly sourced and heavily biased, untrained and unqualified sources are used to justify easy solutions.”"

this 'woman' who set up the "ill-informed site" DOGBITE.ORG should be held accountable for these deaths. what a moron! and for MARL to say a statement such as:

"“We love all animals, including pit bulls"

and then "A look at the Mississippi Animal Rescue League’s photo album this morning revealed pictures of their shelter animals up for adoption. There were no pit bulls in the pictures."

is proof that this really has gone past the tipping point and SOMETHING should be done about this. the southern states have always had a problem with pit bulls, heck! just dogs in general. if you don't want a dog, don't get one in the first place!

Dear God, why have you not given me the power to torture these atrocious monsters to death!!!!! Poor poor babies, what did they do to deserve this - they cannot even speak. I am so traumatised I can't even comment further.

My mind is bewildered by this horrible news of 24 young pit bull killed.

But I do not know if it's even more horrible use of resources and effort (one example among a hundreds, to spread the incorrect news that pit bull dogs are dangerous.
Very dangerous there is only the owner, the one who should educate, breed pit bulls not born killers, but are dogs with a very strong temperament and need to recognize their owner as pack leader.
If not could arise problems, unfortunately this breed of dog is in fashion for people who want to prove their strength to others and not because they know and love this breed.
It makes no sense to have it "defense dog" why they want the dog alone for his own selfishness as the dog be a weapon and weapons, unfortunately, in the hands of an unconscious person only generate pain.
Then thanks to the ignorance of the majority of people indoctrinated by false news is born a new form of racism: racism animal.
sadly noted - thank you dear Dianne

Here is clearly no other motivation than cleaning up to get space, which is no motivation for killing at all. This kind of practice should be punished and stopped immediately by not accepting any thing like this anywhere and making the rules clear for everyone to stick and openness to controlling organizations of which definitely should be more around.

And this place is supposed to be a 'shelter' A more fitting and apt name should be 'death-camp' or 'hell-hole' for dogs. How can anyone justify murdering dogs for the sake of it, especially puppies. Their lives ended before they've even begun. Close this place down, refuse to support it unless it changes its views, who are they to be judge and executioner? Shame on this place, and shame on all who support them in their stance for murder of innocent babies. If this place hates dogs so much, I suggest the management and employees look for different work, work where they will NOT come in contact with dogs.
