We (Dessin Animal Shelter) are filing a sentencing appeal with a renewed demand for reimbursement for medical care.

Good but but just not good enough. These sentences_fines are hardly worthy of mention. They're pathetically painful to stomach. Thx Dianne 4 the update.

I hope with the sentencing that he at least gets the 12 months and not just the 48 hours! For restitution a far as fines, it should include reimbursement for medical care and also the cost of training the dog!
I hope that Dessin Animal Shelter gets reimbursed for these expenses.
And he should also have received a lifetime ban of ever being able to own another pet again! This was a very heinous crime!

I am glad for Jaynah but Dennis needs their money and the judge is lame.

Animal abuse laws have got to be stricter, he should never be allowed to adopt another pet of any kind.

Reese needs a to have his moth and legs tied and be thrown into a coop and forgotten for about for a few days. Animal abuse laws are a laugh we need real laws, where there is no plea bargaining and they get at least 5 years minimum and can never even go look at an animal ever again.

Even this punishment is a start in the right direction...but agree with the others that we need to make stricter laws against animal abusers, especially including payment of all medical expenses for injuries caused by the abuser(s).

Not severe enough punishment Cruelty to animals has to be stamped out with harsher penalties
