As happens in any long-term relationship, my cats and I have our ups and downs.

She's a cat nut like me. She must have several pussycats. So do I. That saying is true: they leave paw prints on your heart!

I've never fallen out of love with my cats. They are and do what cats do, and that includes vomiting, scratching furniture, missing the litter box sometimes, etc. Accept them for who they are.

No falling out of love with my kitties -- ever. We all have faults, flaws and quirks. If people regularly fell in and out of love with us, no marriages would last, no friendships would endure and no one would ever be parents -- especially after the first child. Kitty lives are shorter and more fragile than our own, one day, too soon, they will be gone and the things they did that seemed monumental at the time will be long forgotten. There are things in life that are worth raising blood pressure over, cats just trying to live with we often odd humans is not one of them. In other words, don't sweat the small stuff.

Cats will be cats. Those of us who have cats know that we are blessed. I've never met a cat that I didn't like, or any animal for that matter. Sure they can be messy at times, or destroy furniture, but I can clean up the mess and the furniture is disposable. The love they give is priceless.
