I am not a mom so I try not to stand in judgment. But I have owned many pets and I just can't imagine forgetting that I left on in a car.

PLK - you are so right - I am sorry but I just cannot believe ethis - I have had 4 children and bought up my eldest girls' daughter - and I drive - and no way - would I ever forget to take any of them out of the car or for that matter LEAVE any of them in the car when they were small - so this really does not ring true to me.

There have been many such stories printed about the "forgotten" child. Usually it is during the hot months of the year. I have two son's. I worked and had to drop them off at daycare. It would be our first stop. I just don't understand how anyone can be so distracted and leave a child in a car all day.

How the hell can you forget an infant that is still in your car. There is no excuse for this. I am so disgusted. Don't let her get away with this. Give her the maximum and something to think about. That poor baby.

I don't think they forget, I think they don't believe anything will happen.

That is a horrible tragedy, like so many tragedies involving children! Unfortunately, parenting leaves no room for absentmindedness. No excuse justifies the loss of a child.

I can not comprehend how any one can forget their own child in a car..I have raised 2 kids as a single parent..worked full time as an emergency room clerk and let me tell you..its stressful work but never did I forget that I had my child in the car..I now drive my grandchildren every where and there are days I walk in a room and can't remember why I went in it in the first place but I have never forgotten my grandkids that I put in the seat and buckled in...I'm sorry but I can't see this as an accident...

How does this keep happening??? How could you possibly forget your child?? I think this mom should be charged with her child's death. It is unreal how some people are so clueless! This chile lost his life because of it! SO Sad!

it is sad..but I can see it happening, a high pressure job, trying to stay alive, stress plays an important part in the memory process, we hear of people forgetting kids at the daycare center, and at their own homes, even driving away from a mall without their kids in the car, when it ends in death it is horrible, imagine how the mother feels!
according to this article the number of times this happens is quite high, I am surprised but grateful that there are not more cases..it is a tragedy

I cannot for the life of me figure out how anybody could forget their child. I think of my dog at least 30 times when I'm not with him! Wondering what he's doing, if he's comfy. I hope she has the fortitude to go forth and try her hardest to keep going as there will be alot of nasty things said unfortunately.
