This decision will only foster hunting of elephants for illegal ivory trade.

All governments and politicians have one thing in common....they SUCK!
Just want to grab every last farthing they can, no matter how, or without sparing a thought of the consequences of their greed...humans, animals, the enviroment, they don't give a damn, so long as they get their blood money. I'd just like to know where it all goes? Oh! I forgot...either into their pocket via excessive salaries and fiddled expenses or gets spent on War mongering....certainly doesn't go back into aiding any just causes!

Not even Ivory from those that have died of natural causes should be allowed to be used or traded, only if the possession of Ivory is made completely illegal regardless of how it was come by, shall we end this evil trade and protect the creatures from which it comes!!

Possession of Ivory = accessory to murder = Life in prison !!

I will add to that!! if it is proved that possession is as a result of Direct action ie you killed the animal or ordered its death then the sentence should be death. Goodbye Ivory trade.

51 tons! Holy *&%$

People can do without the knick knacks, or whatever they do with it. It's shameful.

Teachers --- we need more education to students that any animal product that causes the death of an animal, should not be bought. Newscasters --- more stories about animal deaths for trinkets.
there are hikers that find deer, elk, and moose antlers in the woods. the same should be done with elephants -- only tusks from old elephants that have died. any tusks from younger animals found (must be way to tell old tusks from young), is a go to jail card along with all others involved in these deals. mother nature knows how to keep populations viable, man just wantonly kills and more so for money.
