PEW Charitable Trust, in conjunction with Audubon Society have published this report on small fish, AKA forage fish and their pivotal role in the life of waterbirds. Bear in mind, how they go, so go we. Read about the work being done now.

Now if we could get everyone to realize every single living thing, be it plant or animal, is interconnected in ways we don't yet know. Mother Nature was a genius when she put together the food chain.

Too bad humans got involved, thinking they were gods, deciding what species lives and what species isn't needed, or wanted. Some of the people are good Christians, but have never really learned what that truly encompasses. Too bad these humans will aid in the extinction of most wildlife, and in the end will be the cause for human extinction on earth...The Koch's, etc haven't learned you can't take it with you.

Noted and Read. Thank you for the reminder of how everything in nature is interconnected. The bait or forage fish are so important for the birds. Just like herring, being so important for the salmon, birds, other marine life, and the First Nations. Everything on earth is interconnected.
Thank You Ruth Ann.

Very interesting article: ought to be obvious that nature creates balances in chains, & humans all too often fail to take into consideration the knock-on effect of imbalances that we provoke - by hunting, by fishing, by creating products to increase productivity of a few selected products, by investing in monocultures, by wiping out nature's domains for plantations (e.g. oil palms) ... and calculating our pleasure, our money without caring about the multiple negative impacts provoked ...

Once again to comes down to over population of people, we are eating everything to death, death of species we eat and death to those that depend on them to survive. Man does not need fish and meat he goes much better on a plant diet. The strongest man in the world lifter 1200 lbs and he is a vegan.
