Australian Federal Government: Create a National Human Rights Act for Australia TAKE ACTION

Australia is the only western democracy that does not have a human rights act. If you don't know your rights, you don't know when they are being abused. Know your human rights, educate others and see a Human Rights Act as part of law. Please sign!

Thank you, Iona ! Signed both petitions. I am actually surpised, I made the silly assumption that most declared "democracies" had a human rights act.

Noted, signed. Not really surprised it has no human rights act yet as seen in Western Australia's Mental Health Commission's Mental Health Bill 2011:

This issue first came to light when reading the book: Mutant Message Down Under. Of course, what human being would not want 'human rights?' It's as they say: 'a no brainer' Now let's support this common sense with policies of common sense~

If human rights are a given in Australia, then what's the possible objection to writing them down?

I wouldn't ask the present Australian government to institute any new laws- everything they do leads to failure, monumental waste, higher taxes and chaos.

Noted and signed with comment: "Aboriginals should have the right to self-determination. I used to live in Australia from 1970 to 1992 but refused to be part of a country that is a result of genocide carried out against Aboriginals, so I returned to my country of origin and encourage others to do the same. Another area where human rights are not respected is bullying and psychological abuse at school and university; authorities do nothing to help but often blame the victim."

Shelly P. also sent an link to this other petition in the forward on May 10:
