It is alarming how ignorant and naive so many teens are about so many things but this dangerous idea that marijuana won't harm their health must be challenged. Marijuana is up to 7 times more carcinogenic than tobacco, I've read, and has many terrible risks, even an increased risk of schizophrenia. These things must be more widely publicized than they are.

Thanks for making this known. We should all send this article to everyone we know to share with their teens.

What is most alarming is how ignorant and fully indoctrinated many adult are by years of indoctrination.

Marijuana does not cause brain damage, that is a myth.

Researchers are claiming they have answered the question of whether or not marijuana use causes brain damage, and the results are? Marijuana causes brain damage!

How did they come to this conclusion? Well, scientists from Melbourne’s Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, Melbourne University and Wollongong University, used Magnetic Resonance Imaging to scan the brains of 59 people who’ve been using marijuana on average for 15 years. They compared the scans against the brains scans of people who don’t use cannabis, and viola, brain damage.

Literally billions of people have used cannabis in history, millions just in the last 24 hours alone. And these “scientists” studied 59 people who use marijuana. What are the other things going on in these people’s lives? What is their diet like? Family medical history? Other drug use?

None of that. Just 59 people and “marijuana causes brain damage.”

Stop the fear-mongering and falsehoods. Cannabis has been used safely for thousands of years and will continue to be until the end of time.

Marijuana is now being used by the juicing method to assist in pain management, cancer, Alzheimer, Parkinson's seizures, and the list goes on. This is no psychotropic side effect when using the juicing of the plant.
The United States owns the patents on the cannabinoids found within the marijuana plant.

Marijuana smoke contains over 400 chemicals; many of these are the same harmful chemicals found in tobacco smoke. Using marijuana can harm your lungs. It can also increase your risk for these diseases:

Chronic cough
Recurring lung infections
Cancer of the head and neck
Heart disease
Memory loss
Learning problems
Accidents
Mental health problems

Babies born to mothers who smoke marijuana can have health problems, including low birth weight and prematurity. "

Alcohol and tobacco have been used for thousands of years too and each have some beneficial effects, but to pretend that they are good for you is pure denial, the same with marijuana. We have a friend who smokes pot every day and has for years. Apart from being ditzy she smoked right though a pregnancy and gave birth to a baby without skin. Coincidence? Maybe. You want to smoke pot, 'knock yourself out', but don't pretend it is without dangers. That is pure fantasy and denial.
