San Diego Marks 150th Anniversary of Biggest Quake

Most earthquakes that shake San Diego originate far beyond the City...But, on May 27, 1862 a 5.9-6.0 Quake that appears to to have started on or near North Island let loose. Not alive to see this one, but did see one that cause the pavement to ripple!

One in 67 or so caused the power poles in Mission Beach to wave like a political candidate - it was not easy to stand up for that one. Such a one as the 1862 quake should cause the 3 San Onofre nuke plants to crack nicely. They DO look like eggs.

Noted and Thanx Mm :-0 Lived in CA for 12 years and only experienced tremors, still a little bit unnerving !
