To most this is really horrific and the distruction it does is terrible. Sadly, all of the USA STATES have their issues, Fires, Toronados, Lightening etc...Thought you might like to view this video.

Ten or so years ago I watched a very well done documentary on earthquakes through out history. I remember it saying that in all of history the earth has only quaked a total of 2 and one half hours, and done more damage than any of the other natural disasters.

Noted! Being a California native, I am well acclimated to earthquakes. But is was my first big one (I believe the Sylmar) that scared the daylights out of me as I was just a young pup. I couldn't sleep for weeks and always had to be with someone. Then all of a sudden as they came and went, I actually enjoyed them. It's the tornadoes I don't like as they are not an equal opportunity destroyer. Luckily I've not had to experience one of those even though I live in the Midwest and we have had the warnings, they never made it to my neighborhood,,,,Thank God!

Noted! And have to laugh as I had commented only to have a thunderstorm come in and turn the lights of long enough to not allow my completed post to go through so I'm back to repeat, LOL. I have to say that I believe it was the Sylmar earthquake as my first, and one that scared the daylights out of me. I was just a young pup then and a native Californian. I just remember that I had difficulty sleeping for the longest time and had to be in the presence of other people as that truly frightened me. Then I grew to actually enjoy them and was strangely ablr to predict them as well. My left ear would feel as though under water and as soon as I felt it I would call out "Earthquake" ASAP just so people would know I wasn't making it u.p> I was right every time! I now live in Chicago and have only felt one and had the same thing happen with my ear and called out earthquake, well sure enough we had one which I incidentally found odd here, as we normally have to contend with Tornadoes. Now those I don't ever want to experience because they are not an equal opportunity destroyer whereas earthquakes are. Call me crazy, but I don't think it fair that my house stands while my neighbors has been moved to Kansas. Great video sis! But then again, there is nothing other than that to be expected from you!

Cue up The Cars 'Shake it Up'
Nice warning shot. If we had the sense to build nothing more than farms in high-stress fault zones, we might even have already developed reliable earthquake prediction. As it is, we can just wait for the Big One.
