Thank you Marilyn - beautiful and tragic, because this will never be enough. I don't feel hopeful. They forgot to add one of the largest contributers to greenhouse gas emission is from factory farms. In total, "animal farming accounts for 18% of global greenhouse gas emissions, surpassing the entire globl transportaion sector, which accounts for 13.5 % of total emissions. " That's astounding !

Every sixty seconds, thirty acres
of rain forest are destroyed in order
to raise beef for fast food restaurants that
sell it to people, giving them strokes and
heart attacks, which raise medical costs and
insurance rates, providing insurance companies
with more money to invest in large corporations
that branch out further into the Third World
so they can destroy more rain forests."

It is so important to note that it is us and not just 'them' that are creating this nightmare for our grandchildren.

One can beging to whittle down our desire of the must haves once we understand where the want & need cross each other. There is very little in all the wants if we realize the promotion for all the glittery things in life stem from what the guy across town has. If the guy across town lost all he has/had he would be grateful for having his life.
It really is all that simple......And the less materialism you & I have the more is left behind for Mother Earth & all her babies......Animals.

Wherever you are the once was a forest.
Plant & protect Danny's trees for life.

The Earth will not be destroyed. Mother has gone through these changes before. She is not troubled by these changes. Those that live on her are the ones that live or die. We are destroying the human experiment with over consumption. We are over heating the atmosphere. We'll reap the destruction of this society. That is good. Humanity has over populated and put almost all the available land into food production for us. We have upset the balance of Nature. We'll flood out our cities. We'll caused drought failures of farm land. We'll pollute our waters. We'll run our course. Nature will survive. We'll survive, too. But only after many die and then society will become farmers again. Like the Hobbits, we'll live in balance with nature.

Hartson.......Just maybe you are right.
There are eight billion humans planted
all over this BLUE DOT. I suspect several
million if not more will die from starvation,
lack of water, natural diasters such as floods.
The scenario of what will happen will get darker
and darker as time goes by.
No matter how it all ends for a few million hopefully
billions we man will have learned a thing or two about
how we treat Mother Earth from that point on.

If man were just a dab less intelligent we all would
be so much better off.
And, it has been said animals are not so smart!!!!!
Ha.......I laugh at our own stupidity compared to
animal intelligence.....Animals have more smarts
in one eye than we in all our large destructive brain.

Wherever you go there once was a forest.
Plant & protect Danny's trees for life.
Trees are the lungs of the earth.

I didn't watch this because then I would want to go kill a few people who richly deserve to be killed starting with greedy oil execs and work my way down through their flunkies in government. Their never ending greed for oil is killing our planet so boiling them in their own oil would be a perfect end to them. Yeah, I am that ticked off. Sigh-I hate greedy people. Just where do they think they are going to live once they kill our planet?

Honestly, I don;t really care about the destruction of "mankind". I am not a man yet wI will still feel the consequences. Mankind has done this though as it is men who have ruled since the beginning and are responsible for most of this although not all of it. We don't belong here on the planet Earth or any other planet. we are not a natural species but an invasive one. I saw those animals and thought how unaware that there is a war on and they are the victims. I see these futuristic movies in which there are no trees or animals and wonder if this is indeed the future or close to it. I know they are not real but look how much has been portrayed in books and the cinema that has come to fruition somewhat. Maybe it is just my fear even though I won't be here in 100 or so years-thank goodness.
Let the humans be destroyed so all other can live.

Thanks Mm........sad to know that all this could be gone one day if we don't ALL stand up and that action. Global warming IS real. We can slow things down and maybe even save some animals. We owe it to ALL the animals and to the environment to do everything that we can to save put a stop to the destruction as much as possible. Man has just about destroyed the earth, we can do better than this. People that don't believe in global warming, need to get there head out of there ass and open there eyes, before it is TOO late. We can't let this happen!!!!

Bete M...Green Star! Yes, deforesting so much land for cattle and the GMO pesticide corn grown to fatten them up that is causing them and all life horrible problems, the waste of water, the pollution, the drying and heating of the atmosphere due to loss of trees....this plus pigs, chickens, egg-laying hens, calves, lamb, etc...all of this eating of our relatives made to suffer so also makes the entire planet and all life suffer. We have no time left to make up our minds to change our diets. We must eat only Organic Veg'n from now on!

What I and so many watched is truely sad and something has to be done but it is up to ALL of us to decide to do even half of what this suggests to do but the biggest thing that wasn't mentioned at all of which I was shocked to say the least.

Thank you! I did not know that the recharging cords for cell phones still used energy even when they were not recharging their phones. For seven years, the recharging cords for my cell phone and the company radio have always had their permanent sockets and their special place, side by side, on a bookshelf.

Avoid plastic purchases, recycle, reuse, renew, COMPOST, My parents' generation never threw anything out. They used everything over and over. They are the original recyclers. Let's follow in their footsteps. WHile our gov't and corp's destroy our beautiful resources, let's fight to get them back. Save our critters and their habitat. We can take care of ourselves, our animals cannot. I didn't even watch the film I get too distressed. Write to your Senators and Representatives AND the President. Keep on writing and signing petitions.

Bette M. (91)
Monday July 9, 2012, 3:43 pm
cindy......Man has destroyed the world as it once was.
Long ago the earth was pure from unnatural pollution.
The rivers, oceans, land & sky smelled like a rose garden.
For greed & pompass egotistical wants & not so much of need
we have tore up what Mother Nature intended.

We will never learn for we have not learned & it is far too late
to undue the most sever damage we know of.
We, man shall all die a blithering blistering death because hell
is right here on earth & we created it with our damned brains.

No animal on this earth could or would do what we have done because
we/man have always thought they were to dumb.
But, we all should know by now animals are the smartest creatures on
this planet............

Wherever you go there once was a forest.
Plant & protect Danny's trees for life.

I agree with all of Bette M's comments.

If you watch the news and keep your eyes and ears wide open, there's only one possible conclusion. And that is: there are FAR TOO MANY people who are apathetic, disbelieving, lazy, greedy or needy -- to provide the numbers of faithful warriors needed to fight the evils this planet faces. Most people don't even know or care about such topics, as their days are dominated by the mountains of increasingly small and inconsequential tasks, factoids and social diversions provided by time-saving technology. Dominated to the extent that there's no time or energy left to actually do much about any of it!

ADD TO THAT, the fact that we're in a global recession. Every one of these problems costs money to monitor and fight, and nobody has any! And the private citizens who do want to help are overly busy and stressed just trying to keep their noses above water....

THE SIMPLE FACT IS: WE ARE NOT GOING TO MAKE IT. NOPE, THIS PLANET WILL CONTINUE TO BE DEPLETED, HEATED AND POLLUTED, AND IT'S ALL GONNA HAPPEN FASTER AND FASTER AS THE SAD DIGRESSION FEEDS UPON ITSELF IN A TIGHTENING CIRCULAR PATTERN. I don't know how the end's gonna look, but the end is fairly near. Certainly in geological terms it's upon us.

There are already too many people for this planet to support economically without sustaining significant damage, and the numbers are continually growing. Doesn't take a rocket scientist....
