Humans once learned from wolves and they called themselves 'The People' or 'Human Beings'. Those were the native Indian tribes and the First Nations indiginous peoples. The Wahsheeshu (Whites) from the European nations never have and unfortunately never will it seems. Natives call the wolf Brother because he taught them how to live and how to survive. That knowledge is almost lost now. If we continue to kill these highly intelligent, wise creatures, we will indeed, cease to understand not only nature but ourselves. All things are connected and this is what many do not understand or acknowledge or admit. How sad for humanity. When they are gone, they are gone FOREVER and we cannot get them back.

Man, in Its ignorance, knows nothing of this world and in Its arrogance, kills that which is greater than Itself.

Thank you for the lovely video, Marilyn.

Wolves are a necessary part of the ecological chain that allows life to flourish on this planet. While I support their protection, I still don't like that biology causes us, and them, to leave our mark written in the blood of other creatures. My argument isn't with the "system" but how it is designed.

I long for the day when this is true:

“The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb,
The leopard shall lie down with the young goat,
The calf and the young lion and the fatling together;
And a little child shall lead them."

That would be heaven on earth for me. By blood no more shall we live, love alone shall feed us. Probably a few decades off, but nonetheless, that is the system I would have designed.

The first thought I heard in my head when I saw this headline was the wisdom of wolves, the stupidity of humans. Too many humans (most?) are so caught up in getting as much as they can and not thinking about the impact, in this case the impact on the lives of the wolves, who they really are, their part in nature, or just that they should have the right to exist. We may be the most powerful species but we are most definitely the smartest. Too much power is never a good thing.

Critters that eat rats, remove road kill, and dispose of weakened and diseased herd animals have my vote! Wolves belong in our environments; rats are native to India and don't belong in the USA! If you just wanna kill something, there's virtual; if you just wanna shoot something, play paintball! Leave the wolves alone and diseases like Bubonic Plague, bovine spongiform encephalitis/sheep dropsy, and hoof&mouth disease decrease. Only things wolves should have to put up with are rabies vaccination and camera-happy distant tourists!

Wisdom is in all life...and we must stop eating animals so as to return sacred roaming and freedom to those it was stolen from. Diet change to organic veg'n can restore the forests, waters, lands, air back to the way Nature had created and balanced them:clean and green

It would be an absolute tragedy to not be able to share the beauty of these animals with future generations. These are beings that mate for life,mourn the loss of their loved ones,protect their own...perhaps we should all learn from such incredible animals.

I don't understand why people hunt wolves, I know part of it is the fear and claims livestock is being attacked but thats BS. Wolves only eat livestock when HUMANS eat their moose or other sources of food, or if they are starving.
