A member of the Suku Anak Dalam indigenous community was killed and five others were injured during a clash with security forces. The incident is therefore the first major test for Wilmar, as the company is one of their suppliers

Life, other than their own, means nothing to the executives of large corporations.

Noted angrily. The only way we can honor the death of people and animals who are having their homes literally ripped out from under them is to NOT consume palm kernel oil in any form!

The trouble with total boycott is that the worst hit are the little producers and the workers (& their families), who don't have other sources of income. The owners of "abusive" plantation companies have alternative income, they can be bothered by boycott but aren't tipped into extreme poverty. And there are networks of palm oil users (usually small companies) who ARE very careful about environmental respect and fair work conditions.
That's where the scorecard may help - targetting the abusers & the companies that don't take responsibility for the human & environmental cost of their supplies.

Big money always seems to leave death and destruction in their wake of profit and greed.

Palm oil is not worth the life of someone. It needs to be stopped. This sounds like the palm oil corp didn't like the protesting of the company and came after him. When the other men went to protest the corp went violent. Corporation Greed = Wilmar.
