Georgia Callahan, Peace activist, Care2 member and Dennis Kucinich supporter, is working with 'net friends' to lead a growing movement to cast off the chains of fear being used to manipulate and hold down society's peaceful nature.

Visit the for ideas of how you can take part, and to share some of your own.

I'm so thrilled to see one of your members doing something POSITIVE to show that this site is MORE than just noting articles, but LIVING what they note, too! You make us so very proud, Georgia!

I am SO glad to see someone in Southern Illinois who knows & supports Kucinich (besides myself!)! Dennis is the Ideal Democrat!
We can't wait til 2008!
Dennis in '08 - Kucinich is the true voice of the people!:
Kucinich has done this:
(1) co-sponsoring with Rep. John Conyers HR 676, a universal health plan;
(2) voting AGAINST the Patriot Act;
(3) voting AGAINST invading Iraq;
(4) promising to withdraw from the World Trade Organization and NAFTA, & standing opposed to weapons in space;
(5) voting against a flag-burning amendment;,
(6) advocating a 12-point plan to get our troops safely out of IRAQ;
(7) voting to cut off funds for prosecuting the Iraq war;
(8) urging the signing of the Kyoto Protocols to cut down on pollution;
(9) advocating education for all, from kindergarten through college;
(10) urging the creation of a Department of Peace,
(11) ending the phony “war on drugs”;
(12) urging renewal of the environment;
(13) sponsoring HR 333 to impeach Vice President Dick Cheney; and
(14) abolishing the death penalty.
All of these positions favor the people over the wealthy and well-connected.

Great article! We need to see more faces like Georgia standing for Peace, and she should be on the front page of some big newspapers! Or on the Tonight Show! It's so biased out there, I'm sick of the way the (media, big players) anoint the few choices they want, and most people don't look further than that. I hope more people can pick up the message we are trying to send, the Dems are all Better than Bush, but Dennis is the Dem that is thinking totally for himself and humanity, he's not on the payroll of anyone. A true public servant, what are leaders are supposed to be.

Georgia Callahan was attacked by a man who threatened her life after this story ran. She is OK, and still Un-Scared... From a discussion of this...

"Georgia (kingdom) was assaulted Wednesday night outside her home, one day after her story appeared in her local paper. The attacker pulled her into the woods and threatened to cut her throat if she refused to stop her work. She broke free and ran for her life. She called the police and has taken other actions to immediately protect herself and her family. After sleeping on it overnight (if she slept at all) she emailed me and called the reporter who wrote the story on the un-scared to let her know. Georgia has decided not to be stopped. She knows who the real terrorists are and she's standing up. I know that in the tradition of non-violent activism many of you will stand with her.

The more of us who stand up, the safer we'll all be. There's power in numbers. If i had a "Georgia mask" I'd wear it. I'm doing the next best thing - every night through Halloween there'll be a half-dozen peace pumpkins lining the front of my house; this weekend I'll attend a local peace festival to distribute info for the Un-scared Halloween; next weekend I'll be at the regional peace demo in Orlando doing the same. I immediately contacted our regional progressive mag (Folio Weekly) with Georgia's story in the hope that it will make next week's edition. I'm asking you to stand up too. I won't blame you if you don't. Many of you have been the victims of violence in your lives and risking more is not in the cards for you. But this is what Dennis' campaign is about, being the change, being the peace that you want to see in the world. The presidential campaign has a hundred issues and so we are pulled in a hundred directions. But everything depends on peace."

"Thank you all for the kindness. Guess What????

My incident has made me realize how much harder I must work for PEACE! I am alright! Alive and Well! I now have former U.S. Military Presence to stand with me! A 3 tour Iraq War Vet!

You can try to silence me, but my voice will speak.

You can try to scare me, but I laugh in your face

You can try to kill me, but I'll throw a mean elbow to your nose!"

Her husband ...
"My wife is certainly courageous, but no matter what she said, this freaked her out. She would really like to forget that it happened, although, I believe it will always be on her mind. I think she would really like to quit talking about it at this point though. Our family appreciates the out pouring of support from her "family" at the campaign"

My thoughts go out to Georgia, her courage is an example for us all. Her husband's note that she would rather not talk about this anymore caused me some doubt about posting this news, but it needs to be known.

Take care everyone, but follow Georgia's example, and don't allow fear to silence you.

Violent right-wingers can't be allowed to silence Peace!:( I'm so sorry she was attacked, but very happy she wasn't physically hurt.

How is Georgia and her family doing now?

This angry, violent behavior is learned. We have to unlearn it. I only had my truck window smashed out by someone who didn't like my anti-Bush stickers, or perhaps the Dept. of Peace sticker bothered them. Georgia was attacked for believing in Peace, how wrong is that? The perpetrators mimic the Cheney/Bush regime in action. We have to turn the scales to Peace, or live with ever ending war, and why would an intelligent humanity accept that? It's time to educate every person alive today, starting when they are born, to the ways of Peace. And everyone worldwide has to have food, shelter, respect and hope or you will never get people to give up their anger. It starts with each and every human, make the change to a higher way of thinking worldwide! I've got my Dennis Kucinich sticker for when I can get my window replaced!
