This makes me sick and angry. What kind of justice system sees a twisted mind like this one and give community service for three days? I think mandatory mental counseling should have been a must along with no contact with an animal of any kind. It's just a matter of time until he repeats this and goes on to something larger for his kicks.

If this was my kid I would have him committed to a psychiatric unit for an indefinite period immediately after I'd beaten the stuffing out of him. The Judge??? What a spineless weasel!!! The Family??? Needs to do community service and go for re-orientation counselling for 2 years at least.

This kid is a danger to society and should be committed to an institution. I feel he is a danger to everybody especially animals. Are the people in his family brain dead? "The cat thing"? In my opinion he is a time bomb waiting to go off!
If he can so easily do this to a defenceless kitten what can he do to a defenceless child? Has he already done that too? We will never know until a child one day says something.
Those of you who have children, do you really want this (boy isn't the word because he's nearly a man) youth to have the chance to come out of prison or whatever in so many years? I haven't got children of my own but when I marry my fiancee soon I'll have 5 children and 5 grandchildren and I don't like the idea of people like him walking among us.
The world is getting scarier as time goes on. Years ago we knew everyone in our streets and how kind they were if you needed help in an emergency. Today we have to watch out for terrorists, rapists, paedophiles, youngsters with knives and guns and now we have young people torturing animals what's going to be the next thing we have to look out for?
It's obvious that prison is not working. It doesn't even deter people from doing these things. It's time these offenders felt pain. Bring back the whip! And do it so people can see what happens if they go ahead and do exactly the same crime.

OMG! This is very shocking & disturbing, this kid should be locked up! put in a psychiatric unit, for what he did to that poor kitten, god rests its soul.
Giving him community service, what a disgrace! he knew what he was doing, he even bragged about it. They should make his community service, a one where he has to feed tigers! you never know he may slip & end up as the tigers dinner.

Disgusting, this kid needs to be locked in solitary confinement for the rest of his life! Or maybe someone should stomp and beat him, gouge his eyes out, cut his brain out, shove a stake through it, and dismember him like he did to the poor little kitten. People like this aren't human beings, they're the scum of the Earth. People that commit crimes like this need to be punished by either life in prison in solitary confinement, or put to death by lethal injection. They do not ever deserve to see the light of day outside of a jail cell. Counseling probably isn't nearly enough for this little psychopath. Next it'll be more animals, then people, and it will never stop. Another Charles Manson or Jeffrey Dahmer in the making. Sick, disgusting, poor excuse for a human being, I hope he rots in the very bowels of you-know-where, alongside the other psychopaths and murderers.
