An effective explanation of the expected future effects of climate change world wide. Those who continue to deny the reality should be thought of obstructionist and disregarded, they are talking out of their hats. The longer we delay taking significant action the less chance we have of reversing the effects, we don't have time to continue a debate, we must have a comprehensive plan and move forward.

There is another way of looking at this.What causes the causes? answer -Human expanded requirements for a "good" life. In other words, the need to poss4ss and the needs to be seen to possess and the need to profit from the two earlier needs noted. The fact is advertising and habit and other peoples expectations have tied us into a nightmare scenario where aperson is because they shop,and what they shop for is taken as the major evidence of what th3ey are,and is what they have to have for social survival and an ongoing process of economic survival.
At tghis point full employment and neccessary planned obsolesce and over production and fluctuating economic cycles and polution and global warming and military enforcement of cheap prices and safety for business and the usage of military weapons before they become redundant and while they can prop uop the economy come into play.
Most people on Care2 probably know all this ,at least in a theoretic al sort of way,the way they know about global warming-a sort of different experience and way of knowing . By this I mean the sort of contrast thatt one can see between us armchair people and hat of the Bangladesh people at present viz a viz global warming and the tendency to floods. Perhaps activity closer to home for many on Care2 -the experience of being in the fires in California recently
and that of knowing that these fires are just another bit of global warming warming up.
At the root of itall is at least our own tendecy to inertia and our own dislike of sacrificing anything in the now to make our future viable and our capacity not to register unpleasant facts and to hopePollyannas will pop up with a panacea-Gee I hope she does!
