Unless this man has fired on allied troops, which it appears he hasn't or he would have been charged with it by now,as surely six years is long enough to torture the admission out of someone, what has he actually done wrong? We in Australia are a democracy and therefore can train with any army we like provided we don't use it against our fellow countrymen or allies. The criminals here are George Bush and his government. What civilised country ships people offshore like live export animals so that the laws of the geneva convention don't protect them and so any hideous torture can 'legally' be perpetrated against these people, many of whom have been released without charges because they are INNOCENT!!!!!!! So where is their compensation from the US government who has tortured these people who are INNOCENT!!!
This is crimes against the Geneva convention, crimes against humanity etc,etc the list goes on. The US government does it this way because they are obviously not legally allowed to torture people like this on US soil. it needs to stop and George Bush needs to be charged with war crimes just as Saddam was. And when it appeared as if Saddam was going to implicate George Bush and others they had him dispatched very quickly. That is NOT justice it is perversion of the course of justice. Because George Bush commits these crimes in full view of the world he gets away with it .It is time to say NO you cannot do that it is illegal you are under arrest. This man is a much worse war criminal than any he has named, please stop his reign of terror.

Sam, you took the words right out of my head and heart. Yes, he has trained with the Taliban, to which he freely admits, but has never fired a shot in anger at ANYONE ... unlike all those killed by "friendly fire" ... a hell of a lot of Brits, in particular, have been killed by USA fire.
The ONLY reason that he admitted to what he was accused of, was so he had some chance of getting out of Guantanamo. He sure didn't get any help from Herr Howard and co, or Bu$h & co. Tony Blair was a wimp ... for a Labor Pollie ... but at least he got his home.
