"But among his former Liberal colleagues, he was far from alone. At least six Liberal MPs and senators abstained from the apology, including West Australian MPs Wilson Tuckey, Don Randall and Dennis Jensen, NSW MP Alby Schultz and senator Concietta Fierravanti-Wells, and Victorian Sophie Mirabella, who questioned the existence of the Stolen Generations. Still setting a poor example, Howard has stuck pathetically to his guns. Wilson Tuckey's comments were absolutely disgraceful and he came across as a cynical racist who despised aboriginal people. I sincerely hope my interpretation is wrong. No-one of any decency would be so vitriolic about people who are unfortuate enough to be addicted to and are abusing substances or about children being abused in their homes. The same scenario is apparent wherever people are lacking so many other things in their life. People need help not verbal abuse and racist inflected diatribe. Mr. Tuckey should step down as he is well out of tune with what Australia and ALL of it's people need. HELP NOT MORE ABUSE!!!!! The aboriginal people have had such a huge helping of abuse that surely they are now in need of something a little more constructive. Hey just an idea let's ask them what they want and need instead of telling them what they need as dictated by a group of white people in an office somewhere with no realistic idea of the scenario at all let alone the actual living situation. Time to do the right thing. Thank you Kevin Rudd and thank you Chrissy.
