The Khomeinist regime in Iran is in terminal trouble. That doesn't mean Iran will repudiate Islam and become a secular democracy. The "Islamic Revolution" of Iran was never just about Islam. It was caused by three revolutionary currents coming together.

I sure would like to see all the violence stop. People are dying, being killed by their own. This is not the way to secure your position. Rather the opposite. I hope the leaders can find a way to save face and stop the killing, the imprisoning, the disenfranchising, and set the record straight - even if it means a new election. Khamenei should not have counted his election results before they hatched.

How sad it is that a country would shoot people who are protesting!
oh almost forgot and where was everyone then?

I feel nothing but total contempt for the religious leaders in Iran who are prepared to go to any lengths to maintain their own power. We are only getting a very limited view of what is happening to these brave protestors because of total restrictions placed on journalists of all nations.

What a perfect example of the need to separate Church and State.
