A study of 4,000 "eco-friendly" consumer products on supermarket shelves found that 98 percent make false or misleading claims. The study found rampant greenwashing in every product category. Twenty-two percent featured a meaningless "green label" badge.

thank you,Ttom, this is very interesting. Let's hope Senator Feinstein does introduce that bill; false claims are a plague for the consumer.

Thanxx Tom... sherbet they will do anything to sell their products, they will lie mislead us in the best way that they can... but truth always prevails. Like light, it cannot be hidden, even in the dark the light cannot be hidden it always shines, so their dirty washing will come out in their own washing powder.

Right now eco friendly green products is what it is all about - of course companies are going to cash in on the profits to be earned anyway they can. However going green doesn't always mean going cheap so they are going to cut corners anyway they can so that they can earn as much profits as they can. You have to be vigilant and really check your products before you buy them. There has never been 100% truth in advertising. They will tell you what ever they think you want to hear in order to get you to buy buy buy.

Hopefully they can pass the law to help but that doesn't mean that as consumers we can still trust companies claims. There are always loopholes in laws like this.

Thanks Tom for posting

I agree LaJana, there will always be loopholes in the law; therefore I don't believe it can be completely controlled! Thanks Tom!
