In Aesop's fable about the crow and the pitcher, a thirsty bird adds stones to raise the water level in a pitcher in order to drink from it. Rooks, a relative of the crow, use stones to raise the level of water in a container to reach a floating worm.

We used to have a crow that live on our back porch that talked (true story) we would have BBQs on our back porch and he would help us eat and he started saying words he would hear allot. Each year he would pick up more words. His favorit words were (no kidding) Love ya. He hung around for about 7 years and then one day he was gone.
