A new bill with 105 sponsors in Congress would ban Alaska's "wildlife management" policy of shooting wolves from the air, a policy vocally defended by ex-Gov. Sarah Palin. "It's time to ground this air assault on wolves," said Rep. George Miller, D-CA.

Palin may have come unglued but 105 sponsors in Congress have clearly acted in favor of saving the wolves from cowardly aerial killings ... YES ! the air assault on wolves is finally over !
Yes we did it ... each one's voice has made the difference ... that cannot be denied ! ... tears of joy ... Thank you Tom :-)

and by the way ... the big "bucks" from the hunting industry including the licensing and fees the State would have received will not be happening !
The caribou and moose populations also have been given a greater chance of survival. If anything takes them down it will be the wolves for survivals sake alone...the way it has always been! Anti hunting? me? YOU BET!

Its great when we get a victory and this one feels fantastic. However there is still a loop hole, as usual, but at least its limiting.

Still, a loophole in the law has permitted the state of Alaska, under the claim of "wildlife management," to issue permits to individual hunters to shoot wolves from airplanes on non-federal land.

Oh there is always something I was so happy as usual a loophole!!! Damn
It always shocks me why anyone would want to do this and call it sport.

This article said "The purpose of killing wolves has been to enlarge the population of caribou and moose for hunters to kill"

Actually, it's to kill and eat. It is pretty much our only way to afford truly organic meat. Most Alaskans know this. Most Alaskans know someone who has been attacked by a wolf or wolves also. Don't forget being humane meanings being compassionate. Our kids and dogs deserve to be safe, too.
