The Sudanese government freed journalist Lubna Hussein after she was convicted of public indecency for wearing pants and refused to pay a fine. She says the government was "unnerved" by her presence in prison because she would report on conditions inside.

That she was jailed was a statement of the domination of women in these countries. That she has been released is a relief - but I have to wonder what is next? Thanks Tom

I remember when I was in boarding school, no pants were aloud in church. The funny part is that mini dresses were in fashion that time and that was okay to wear to church. I find it stupid. A woman's body is more covered in pants than wearing a mini dress.

Well done girl... so pleased that this women stood up for her demorcratic right... Women should be able to wear what they want and should not be maniulated by man's law - not God's law..

Pants are very functional....I must wear pants here on the farm....to protect my legs while working....I wear skirts when I'm done....when I dress up....clothing should suit the function.
