They are "wild accusations and the paranoid delusions coming from the fever swamps," said David Frum, a conservative author and Bush speechwriter who is a vocal critic of the party base and of the conservative talk show hosts helping to fan the unrest.

Funny how they claim Obama is a Nazi, meanwhile, they have all the neo-Nazis in their ranks, plus, they are about promoting the elite white race.

Any extremes, whether it be political or religious, should be feared.

Roseann, were you laughing when Bush was being called names? Because the left sure got their digs when it comes to the crazy accusations, right?

Mary, these people are as 'sad' as those who gathered each weekend at the White House to protest Bush. Or was it okay when 'they' did it?

Plain and simple, a lot of folks didn't like Bush - he got his share of (well deserved) name calling......but this crowd has the mob mentality and there are many who are fanning the flames. It's gone way past the norm - these are indeed very sad people.

99% of the time, when they accuse liberals of doing something, they are actually doing it themselves. Try it. 9 times out of 10 that will save you some head scratching. They have been nazi's they are feeling guilty.

Pres. Obama is the first Pres., who came into office with 2 wars going on, a collapse on our financial system, Automobile Companies failing, people losing homes & jobs. The Bush Administration left quite a mess to be cleaned up. We went into Iraq on lies, illegal wiretapping, prisoners being tortured all under Bush. Before Pres. Obama was even in office for 100 days these radicals were attacking him, Rush Limbaugh hoping that the Stimulus package would fail, how Unamerican is that - wanting your Country to fail. Glenn Beck saying we need another 9-11, what is wrong with these people? Sarah Palin making statements about Death Panels! The Repubicans then have the nerve to say that Pres. Obama is a Nazi! Glenn Beck had an addiction to drugs and alcohol, Rush Limbaugh had an addiction to pain killers, was caught at a Florida Airport with 20 Viagra pills on his return back from a trip to Columbian where young girls are used for sex, the Viagra wasn't in his name but a doctor's name. Seems to me people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. Some people think these guys are stand up Americans instead of former addicts and drunks but they are the first ones who will say " Down on drug addicts".

Thanks Patricia N. You said it very well. I am sorry I could not send a green star because it seems I have no friends. I might add the first President who had to put his Birth Certificate on the air to prove he is an American. Funny they never asked MaCain since he was born in the Panama Canal.

Thanks everyone for all of your comments. I think the last part of the article reveals a horrible Republican trait that all who are against animal cruelty like so many of us here on care2 should keep in mind during future election cycles:

"Republican critics of the conservative fringe point with concern to a largely party-line vote in which many GOP senators opposed Obama regulatory nominee Cass Sunstein -- even though Sunstein's views on regulatory issues are considered favorable to industry.

In recent weeks, commentators such as Beck have portrayed Sunstein, a Harvard law professor, as a radical, citing, for example, his past speeches and articles advocating animal rights as evidence that he opposed gun rights. More mainstream groups such as the National Rifle Assn. and the American Conservative Union joined the opposition against Sunstein.

Citing the base's demand for ideological purity, Frum said: "I believe Republican senators cast votes [on Sunstein] that they really didn't want to cast."

One leading conservative Republican senator, Jim De- Mint of South Carolina, said in an interview over the weekend that he decided to oppose Sunstein after hundreds of calls from constituents demanding a "no" vote due to Sunstein's "extreme views."

Asked to say which of Sunstein's views he considered extreme, DeMint could not answer. A DeMint spokesman later said, echoing the arguments of Beck and others, that his boss objected to the fact that Sunstein had once called for a ban on hunting and to his past statements on the legal rights of animals."

make your own minds up, don't be swayed by every word and doctrine that comes through, but judge what is of sound knowledge and find ones own peace

I don't care what anyone says, all this is motivated by HATE and I agree with President Carter - most is racially stimulated! Look at the crowds, they are mainly "lily whites" who let Bush ruin that nation, then didn't vote because of Sarah Palin. Obama came in on a land slide and now they are screaming. Why, for crying out loud? Where were these people and what were they doing during the Bush administration when out nation was going down the tubes!

I think it is foolish to label an entire group (any group) with one broad stroke. Most of these people are hard working people on the verge of loosing all they have worked toward or are in fear of that reality. Many of these people were not supporters of President Bush, big government or spending. Which is what we got in the later year's of President Bush. Certainly they do not want more of it now. Say what you wish, think what you wish. Here is the truth, some but not the majority of these people are racist. They have joined a group of people with legitimate concerns who do not fall in to that line of thinking and find their actions as offensive as you do and maybe even moreso because it taints their concerns.

The news media zeros in on those who definitely have a different agenda than the majority at these protests.

The negativity that the Republican Party is creating is overwhelming. Common sense shows them to be aligned with each other in being the Party of NO that only has self interest, both politically and personally, and the statement of "For the People By the People" means nothing to them as they engulf themselves in self greed and selfishness which was spewed forth the past eight years and has left the United States in the worst circumstances ever and yet they continue even though it is obvious that they are fanatic, narrow minded and a total detriment to the population of this country.
