Texas Governor Stymieing Panel Probing Flawed Death Penalty Case?

Cameron Todd Willingham insisted upon his innocence after his children died in a fire in their home. Texas Governor Rick Perry and the Board of Pardons and Paroles ignored a fire expert's report that found no evidence of arson and executed him anyway.

I hope that the Person, or Persons responsible for this are forced to help out his Children.

It is also my wish that our 'Justice System' will be changed so that Innocent people do not get condemned to Death, and or jailed for Crimes they did not commit.

:(

Thanks for keeping us updated Tom.

I was appalled of the findings after an indepent investigation
was done on the forensics that started the fire. The original
investigators were nothing more than Keyston cops looking
for a fast get quick conviction.........Bumbling dimwits!!

The entire story can be Googled.

The godly person has perished from the land, And there is no upright person among men. All of them lie in wait for bloodshed; Each of them hunts the other with a net (Micah 7:2).

This is terrible treachery and corruption. These are times in which we can be hard pressed to find people of truest integrity. For even where we think we might look to find such people, we are often let down and may feel somewhat disillusioned. Of our political leaders, our society is skeptical and would find it most difficult to really trust most at them. They seem more interested in seeking to be a servant to self than a servant of the people. We remember that those who care and respect and love and do what is good continue to"perish from the land". But we go on!

A petition to Governor Rick Perry and the State of Texas to acknowledge that the fire in the Cameron Todd Willingham case was not arson, therefore no crime was committed and on February 17, 2004, Texas executed an innocent man.

We plan to deliver the petition at the 10th Annual March to Abolish the Death Penalty

This guy is a total jack ass! I am ashamed to admit I am from TX, due to having such an idiot for a Governor! The straw that broke the camel's back so to speak is the statement he made about TX seceding and becoming an "independent" state! He has not a brain in his head!

This is terrible but I still would be for the death penalty in some cases. For instance many years ago a young woman who had been my neighbor when she was a child was murdered. It seems that some man went around killing women who were prostitutes, etc. This young woman had been raised in a normal home with a married mother and father and had been a very nice child. Unfortunately at some point in her life she became addicted to drugs. When she was over 21 she left home and her parents could not find her to try to help her. Then one day a man was stopped by a policeman for some traffic violation or something. The policeman saw the dead body of a woman in the car(not my former neighbor) . Then after investigating the man, he showed them the bodies of many other women he had killed. He didn't remember all of the women he killed but he had some kind of momento for all of them such as their driver's licenses etc. It seemed that he had murdered over 20 young women (my former neighbor was one of them) and felt he did the right thing because they were sinners. Perhaps the young woman who had been my neighbor when she was a child might have been helped with her addiction but this could never happen because he killed her. There was no death penalty in N.Y. and so he is still alive in prison. I saw him interviewed on tv a few years ago. Some of these murderers do interviews, write books, play basketball, etc. I don't think that is punishment. These are murderers that might be bragging about what they did or where the evidence is so substantial.
On the other hand, think of what it would be like to be put into prison for the rest of our lives if we are not guilty. It is harder for people who are not criminal types to be in prison. In addition there usually are top notch lawyers who will take on a case if a person got the death penalty but don't care if the person was sentenced to life in prison for the rest of their lives. I wish that everyone could get the best legal representation at their first trial even if they are not rich, but that does not seem to happen. I also wish that the people who care about those facing the death penalty would care about people who might have been wrongfully convicted and not facing the death penalty.
This is a complicated issue.

Esther.......Indeed it is very complicated. Nothing in life is purely black & white.
I've always been for the death penalty. However, after reading the entire case
against Willingham I'm torn or caught in the middle.

The investigators in this case were too quick to judge, score points on solving
it & were mere clowns in reasoning how this could have happened.

Also, I view the govenor of Texas as arrogant & almighty in not sparing
this mans life.

I agree B.M. however they should look into such cases even if the person is not facing the death penalty. If it were me, I probably would prefer the death penalty than spending the rest of my life in prison for a crime that I did not commit.

AS FAR AS I AM CONCERNED THIS GOVERNOR HAS GOT HIS A _ _ IN A CRACK! HAD HE LISTENED TO THE NEW EVIDENCE AND ISSUED A STAY THIS MAN MIGHT HAVE BEEN FOUND NOT GUILTY AND BE FREE. TOO MANY TIMES LAW OFFICERS ARE UNDER PRESSURE TO CLOSE A CASE AND CONVICT THE INNOCENT AND THEY DO SO WITHOUT ANY CONSCIENCE. THIS COULD HAPPEN TO ANYONE.

Barry B. (20)
Sunday October 4, 2009, 10:21 pm
Police are sometimes too quick to make an arrest--any arrest--to prove they are "doing their jobs." Prosecutors often are willing to convict anyone, guilty or not, to further their careers. If later the victim is proved innocent, nothing ever happens to those who ruined his/her life. But what if wrongful conviction were a crime? What if those responsible for railroading the innocent had to face the bar themselves? Would lazy police and ambitious district attorneys actually make an effort to get it right instead of just closing a case?

reading that new yorker story was an eye opener. you can be so sure of something and yet, you really don't know anything. that's why i'm against the death penalty. you can never be 100% certain. and people have the will to live under the most grueling circumstances. for most, i imagine prison is still better than death. although, i might give prisoners a choice.

There is a Law, but very few people know about it. It's the Citizens Protection Act of 1998. The American Bar Associations Ethics Laws, and the Ethics Laws adapted by your State are in effect for these reasons. The Attorneys are not looking for them. If I can find an 11 year old Law, on the Books, why can't they? If you ever get in trouble Research for yourself. It may save you your Freedom. Prosecutors are required to give Exculpatory Evidence within 20 days of you being Charged with a Crime, but it appears that some are misinterpreting this Law.

WOULD THAT BE MURDER IN ALL OTHER CONSIDERATIONS?
A "government" PUTS TO DEATH SOMEONE, ANYONE... says "IT IS EXCUSED" though INNOCENCE IS THERE... ! SOUNDS LIKE "MURDER"! SMELLS LIKE "MURDER"!

I MEAN... NO RUSH IN RIGHT PEOPLE
to "LYNCH" ANYONE UP in Texas??? NONE THAT ANYONE I KNOW OF KNOWS OF!!!
and yet TEXAS GOVERNMENT
has KILLED PEOPLE in the TEXAS "entitlement POLICY" IT DEMANDS ON THE USA!
HOW???

ARE WE NOT A PEOPLE OF ONE NATION!!!
ONE NATION!

NO EXCUSE exists FOR PUTTING TO DEATH ANY INNOCENT LIFE!
IT WAS AND IS THE DUTY OF THE GOVERNMENT TO ENSURE THAT THOSE IN PRISON
1)__have not been "SET UP" by whatever CROOKS exist in alledged POLICE, PROSECUTORS etc... WHICH WE ALL KNOW IT SHAME ON THE USA do EXIST!
2)__NO EXCUSE FOR EXECUTIONS REGARDLESS... smells MORE like a way to "RID" the RIGHTS OF PEOPLE and TO ENSURE THAT NO ONE INNOCENT (once dead) CAN SPEAK UP... !

PEOPLE DESERVE A VOICE AND TO BE HEARD AND THEIR RIGHTS UPHELD
WHETHER MURDERED BY THE USA GOVERNMENT
WHETHER MURDERED BY THE TX GOVERNMENT
AND THE GUILTY ON TRIAL FOR MURDER
as well as ALL THOSE TRYING TO "COVER UP" THE CRIMES AND OR "DIVERT ATTENTION" FROM THE CRIMINAL ACTS

THAT IS WHAT SUMS ALL THIS UP PEOPLE!
OUR HUMAN RIGHTS!

Thanks for helping to decriminalize mental illness and express your viewpoints on capital punishment, wrongful convictions, etc.

Please call and give your feedback on this and other justice matters. Over 2.3 million people are incarcerated in America, half of whom are mentally ill, 2/3 of whom are non-violent offenders. Incarcerating 1 in 99 Americans costs taxpayers around $50 billion annually. Police and court costs plus providing lawyers for indigent defendents increases that amount to around $185 billion yearly by some estimates, draining resources from education and other needed public services. Some elected officials are working hard to improve situations, and it is important to let them know what is relevant to you. Public interest helps.
.
I look forward to speaking with you Sunday!

The death penalty does not bring back the murdered, raped, robbed or whatever. The death penalty uses more tax payer funds for appeals than it does to keep a prisoner in jail for life. For this an the other problems of killing an innocent person I am against it.

YOU ARE RIGHT MARY... THIS IS ANOTHER SHAME ON THE USA!
TO VIOLATE HUMAN RIGHTS AFTER HUMAN RIGHTS!

ALSO MARY
the USA HAS ANOTHER SHAME ON ITSELF
IT OFTEN ALLOWS "doctors" TO FALSIFY INFORMATION
ON SOMEONE's LIFE!

FOR EXAMPLE RAPED VICTIMS... ARE OFTEN LIED ABOUT
and called SLUR WORDS TO INSULT THEIR LIVES such as "SCHIZOPHRENIC" or other INSULTS HURLED AT THEM FOR WANTING THE ABUSER(s) APPREHENDED!
THIS IS ANOTHER CRIME of the MENTALLY INJURED Mary!

AND ALTHOUGH Mental ILLNESS is one area WE ALL NEED TO BE ALARMED OVER!
THE ABUSES OF THE CITIZINS LIVES SUFFERING IN THIS DILEMNA or THAT ONE...
MARY,
ANOTHER HUGE CRISIS IS THE LIEING ABOUT VICTIMS LIVES!
REFUSING THE VICTIMS OF HEINOUS CRIMES HEALING... HEALING!
and TRYING TO "TAG" the VICTIMS as if... "MENTALLY ILL" as a TECHNIQUE to DISMISS THE VICTIM and TO DENY PROSECUTION OF CRIMINALS... common in the USA

MARY... YES I WILL ATTEMPT TO BE THERE FOR THIS DISCUSSION>... ?
HOWEVER,
WE ALL NEED TO BE A VOICE... AND DEMAND NO TOLERANCE OF THESE CRIMES!

A RAPED VICTIM SURELY ENDURES
ANXIETY
SOME DEGREE OF DEPRESSION
and YET... FOR WHORES IN MEDICINE TO "TAG" THE VICTIMS with OTHER TERMS MEANT FOR SLURRING THE VICTIMS LIVES INSTEAD OF WORKING LABORING TO HEAL VICTIMS... THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS!
AND TO SLUR THOSE WHO ARE NOT MENTALLY INJURED AS ARE RAPED VICTIMS...
NOT MENTALLY ILL PEOPLE
instead OBVIOUSLY MENTALLY INJURED AND CAPABLE OF HEALING...

THOUGH TO THE MENTALLY ANGUISHED.
ARE THEY "MENTALLY ILL"?

IN OTHER NATIONS the "WHORING FOR THAT ALMIGHTY DOLLAR" does NOT MILK THE CITIZENS AS IT DOES ACROSS THE USA... AND THE "MENTALLY ILL" IN OTHER NATIONS IS MUCH LOWER IN "DIAGNOSIS"
AS WELL THERE ARE OTHER AREAS SUCH AS HEALING THAT TAKES PLACE TO "shcizo" PATIENTS FOR ONE DIMENSION of ALLEDGED "MENTALLY ILL" that the WHORES IN THE USA MAKE THEIR DEMANDS "CANNOT RECOVER" and MUST BE ON THOSE MEDS.

WELL... I AM OUTRAGED OVER ANY DEATH PENALTY
!

AND FOR ANOTHER MATTER THERE IS NO WAY... NONE that THE MEDS the USA PUSHES onto THE "MENTALLY ILL" is QUALITY MEDICAL CARE!
THEY DO NOT HEAL PEOPLE!

HOW IS THAT?
IT IS PAST TIME TO TOLERATE PEOPLE VICTIMIZED BY SUCH WHORING PEOPLE OUT TO FILTHY EXCUSE FOR DOCTORS THAT EXTORT FROM OFTEN SOMEONE ALREADY IN PAIN AND SUFFERING TO HAVE A FALSE MEDICAL DIAGNOSIS... AND TO EXTORT FROM THE PERSON MORE HEALTH AND THAT DIRTY BUCK$!

IT TOO IS ALL MURDER and MURDEROUS INTENT!

ALL OF IT!

THIS POST IS ABOUT MURDER THAT TOOK PLACE IN TEXAS.
IT TOOK PLACE BECAUSE TEXAS DEMANDS IT HAS THE RIGHT TO MURDER PEOPLE!
IT DOES NOT!!!

HOLD ACCOUNTABLE THOSE WHO DID THIS TO ANYONE IN TEXAS!
HOLD ACCOUNTABLE ALL THAT ARE ATTEMPTING TO DIVERT THIS CRIME OF MURDER!
NOTHING LESS.

THAT IS A PORTION OF EACH PERSON's DUTY TO EACH PERSON!
ACCOUNTABILITY!!!

Did you know that when you file Paperwork with the Courts the Judge doesn't usually see it? It goes to an Independent Judge that may or may not include it with the Motions sent to the Judge that will view the Case. If you do not have an Attorney and the opposing Party does, then they can usually persuade the IJ to withhold it, since in Legal Channels it has to be in the Form of a Motion/Brief, etc....

This is in Civil, and Probate matters, but I am not sure whether this is also done with Criminal Matters. I believe that we need Legislation that allows for ALL Documentation to be seen by the 'Presiding' Judge, and not filtered so as to be mishandled and/or biased.

I almost forgot. Make sure that you have the right fee amount to file your Documents included with the Paperwork, ask for a copied receipt of the Documents, and always keep a spare copy.
