Eight Americans and six Afghan troops died Saturday after being outnumbered in an attack strikingly similar to an insurgent assault 15 months ago in which nine U.S. soldiers died in an outpost in the same northeastern province, Nuristan.

Strange how I posted a story about the first assault, Inside Afghanistan's "Black Hawk Down" on Saturday, the same day the second one was happening. The military commanders were supposed to be "studying" the first assault so our troops wouldn't be caught outnumbered again. No wonder General McChrystal is in trouble. Support our troops -- bring them home now!

Increasing troops in Afghanistan has nothing to do with Black Hawk down. I'm sorry about the troop deaths but we need to pull out of there.

I hate the war in Afghanistan. It is really another war for oil. They plan to build a pipeline from central Asia through Afghanistan to the Arabian Sea. Their manipulations of the American people are obvious. Thank you, Tom. for this distressing information. This evil war should have ended a long time ago.

I agree with you Tom...support our troops by bringing them home! I'm so angry that with these meetings that Withdrawal wasn't even on the table for consideration. WTF! Why Not???? Withdrawal should always be on the table as an option...even if it is an option not to be taken, but in this case withdrawal should be taken. But not to even be considered???? Can see Corportate has their greedy claws in deep just as Bee Hive Lady states.

excerpt from: http://www.cnn.com/2009/WORLD/asiapcf/10/06/afghanistan.us.deadly.fight/index.html

" Instead, Apache helicopters went in waves of two to four, firing at the Taliban fighters. But return fire frequently forced the helicopters back. One Apache was hit.

It took hours to evacuate the dead and wounded. During much of the fight, medical-evacuation helicopters had a hard time getting in because the landing zone was under attack. Even when the helicopters were able to land, some of the wounded resisting leaving while the battle raged."

Nostradamus wrote that WW III will be a war between Muslims and Christians. After the war the US will be totally down and Germany will be dead wasted land without any survivals. While this war is going on the great king of the sky appears and the soldiers leave their Leopard (German tank) and run away. (Words of Nostradamus). Another man whoa was a soldier in WW I said that the WW III would happen when people can talk to each other over a big distance, and they can see each other while communicating. The US should think twice if war and killing is always and everywhere the right tool to solve 'problems'. Islam was not always so radical as it is today. This should make people think.

Stop the U.S. led occupation forces from fighting for the corrupt, oppressive, fundamentalist Northern Alliance warlord government of Afghanistan, and stop harming civilians (which is driving people into supporting and joining the fundamentalist Taliban).

Bring the troops home, and the people of Afghanistan will find it easier to overcome the fundamentalists, and easier to bring back the women's rights and progressive egalitarian style of government that the people of Afghanistan achieved in the 1970s (before the USA and Pakistan started arming and training fundamentalist Mullahs and rich landlords in guerrilla and terrorist tactics, so that they could terrorise the Afghan people into submission).

You don't believe me?

Please listen to Afghanistan's oldest women's rights organisation, R.A.W.A.:

http://www.rawa.com

And please listen to the Afghan woman parliamentarian who the fundamentalists have made many death threats against for her egalitarian, pro women's rights politics: Malalai Joya.

One agin terribly sad when young men die in the line of duty... I wish this would all just end... pleased God willing that He would protect them... These fat cats in the White House need to get their butts into discussions and make a plan to get this war over with
