DENVER: An environmental group is suing the federal government because it says releasing wolves wasn't seriously considered as an alternative to shooting elk to reduce the growing herd in Rocky Mountain National Park.

It's too bad they're not allowing natural patterns to work, instead of using hunters, for the Elk. Introducing the wolves would certainly assist the wolves' situations, as well.

"The Park Service should accept that their elk problem stems directly from a lack of wolves in the region," said Rob Edward of WildEarth Guardians. "It's time to restore the balance of nature in Rocky Mountain National Park."

TY, Tom.

When trophy hunters kill animals, they go after the biggest and strongest, thereby diminishing the gene pool. When left to nature, predators such as wolves, which unlike hunters must kill to survive, go after the weak and lame, thereby enhancing the gene pool of their prey.
